I take it back. You are not a bot. At least Greg (Claude + local RAG) understands Bayesian Inference enough to figure out my original post that you so egregiously impugned (which sure looks like you didn't even know there was a Giant fab in Netherlands). My Prior (which Greg was in agreement with), which was built up based on evidence (from direct interaction with Veldure) from Q3/Q4 2025 was that EU frames would come out of the Netherlands plant. A posterior showing that EU frames are coming out of China is not the point. Clearly Velduro can change their production strategies for N number of reasons (logistics, exchange rates, timeline targets, startup time, embargo hedging, etc.) in the intervening time. I was just inquiring if this was still the case as I'm no longer close to this. Also, sharing evidence that frames shipping out of China does not mean the frames aren't be built in Netherlands or are not going to be built there (perhaps a new version with the longer chainstays?), though I wouldn't score this highly.

Don't worry. This only happens every month or so then Sethimus starts to chill again, he does at times have really good info and then sometimes, he seems like the guy that only rides solo. Great content though 👌 👏 🤣🤘🤘

a few small ones do. there is one fab in portugal (https://magazinebike.com/2022/01/22/kompozytowe-ramy-produkowane-w-portugalii-przez-carbon-team/) , and they tried recently to open a fully atomated one in belgium (https://www.pinkbike.com/news/wrong...ame-as-manufacturer-files-for-bankruptcy.html) but failed before opening it. all the others are tiny boutique, but not a mass producer like giant. THEY ONLY ASSEMBLY THE BIKES HERE. my last gig in germany was at a shop that sells giant. i know where their stuff is made…

I guess you don't have the intellect to understand the words: I was under the impression that at least all the EU destinations would get their frame out of Giant in Netherlands. That's called a prior, and one that doesn't seem to fit with more recent evidence, hence I'm calling out that I was "under the impression". In other words I was signalling that my prior is low precision based on recent evidence. But 9 months ago is was stronger. But even then it wasn't and still isn't salient for me for I don't live in the EU, so not much reason to forage for further evidence of this.

It was 9 months ago when Velduro was communicating with me that they were going to fab the bikes in Netherlands for the EU market. I thought is was bit odd as well as because of labor cost and regulation differentials between the regions, but hey, BYD has got in a lot of trouble by trying to make the differential model work by shipping forced labor into Brazil to make their cars, much the same the Giant itself is in trouble in the US for their labor conditions in Taiwan, which wrought a US strict import sanction. At the time I was hoping that Velduro would make the frames in Taiwan to escape the reciprocal tariffs in the US, but was later thankful that they were coming out of China, especially now that SCOTUS nuked the reciprocal tariffs.

Oh, and there is no loss here; no zero-sum. Just belief updating on my part that the Velduro has since changed their communicated production strategy.
 
Saw a couple (well actually more than a couple) of Rogues out in the wild yesterday.
One pair were being ridden my a couple of "more money than ability" type of riders, which is really me just projecting my jealousy of their ability to buy fully blinged-out dream eMTB's.
They are a lovely bike in the flesh (as I have said before), but like the Amflow, they are becoming more common on the trails, so will soon be just like seeing a nice Yeti or Santa Cruz, I suppose.
I so badly wanted to ask one of the riders if I could have a hoon...:LOL:

Here is 1000km of wear on the idler. Visually there looks to be hardly any aside from the paint. I also weighed both to see if there was a difference, both weighed exactly the same. I have a second one as it came with the updated idler kit for better alignment. Trying the first ride on it this afternoon to see if there is a difference, visually it looks to be .05mm more in board than the original spec.

Good to hear. Would it be possible to provide a long-term review summary? Initial impressions vs now deep-seated takeaways?; Fli-chip and suspension settings over time?; component selection/changes over time; riding technique changes versus priors, etc.. I'm sure your riding conditions have changed quickly to cover all bases. Us Californians went from drenched atmospheric rivers and snow avalanches to insane 100 deg F record breaking winter heat waves in a span of a few weeks.

Now we know when the ambargo for the new Avinox motor will be lifted. The new Mondraker Zendit was just released. All the reviews do not talk about the motor, stating that:

They are saying that Mondraker has a two step embargo, the one for the bike lifts today, the one for the motor later. So, basically: April 9th, 16:00 CET the embargo for the motor is lifted.

Are ya gunna go the perverse reverse stem on the velduro?

That size sounds better for you including the longer chainstay. It will be interesting to here your review on the correct sized bike and the comparison between this and the crestline. I have mate with a velduro and when we are racing it out down our favourite tracks the cresty and velduor are pretty damn close...

Side note you should get a hold of Norm at Suspension Tech and see if you can get one of his custom tuned shocks.
He does one specifically for the Velduro. I've got EXT and Push 11-6 and I rate his shock over those two..... a sensational bit of kit

I sure hope not. As much as I admire about what BMB is doing over the years and that it might just catch on, adding it the eval would ruin the baseline of the bike against itself as well as any other bike on test.

What Rob should do is a separate BMB video, which would be of value.
