Velduro Rogue 170/165 mullet Enduro with DJI

Hopefully the touted 450mm for the L & XL we were promised back in October. I had based my order on this info, but probably less bothered now if they arrive at 440mm.
The April delivery should be on the boat by now heading here, so whatever it is, its locked in.

Would a new rocker be required for a +10mm of chainstay length? Unlikely, wonder what this is for
Probably to improve that last bit of travel a lot of reviewers seem to struggle with!

The leverage ratio would change with the new the CS. Id say its to keep the current kinemarltics but yeah it could be all together new. Personally Id not want the longer CS on an L. At sag its over 450 and if your on the taller side a slightly longer stem is where id go. The bike is super nimble as is.

Sent my E-storia off for service last week, as I had purchased it used. Went back to the X2 for a few rides in the mean time. The difference that a coil makes on this bike is incredible! The X2 is way too progressive even with all the spacers removed.
Would rate the rear suspension with the X2 a 7 and with the E-storia a 9.5+. Honestly the best rear suspension combo I have ever ridden.
Just my 2¢ 🤙

In my LBS last week saw the price on the Velduro on display, my jaw dropped! Picked it up and it felt to me like it weighed 23.5kg. Lovely black and gold bike with quality components, but IIRC was £7,999 is my memory playing me tricks?

Rogue R is £9000

i read that as that we will all get the new one
Thinking about this again, i’d be surprised if an NZ Company, delivered lots of Rogues to NZ Customers with a M1 motor, then said oh i know what we’ll do, deliver all the UK and Europe frames with an M2 motor, i mean that’s going to earn them serious local NZ kudos 😁

Although that is the way of the world. I guess they set up their partnership with Avinox some time ago and ordered their motors according to orders and anticipated interest.
As Avinox updates their motors, it is in Velduro's interest to do so as well. It may also be that Avinox will discontinue the M1 original motor and supply the M2 (assuming all the rumours around what the M2 is or isn't are true).
Hence why sometimes, it's not always a smart move to jump on a new release. Sometimes it's better to wait until they iron out all the bugs!

They did but if you don't buy a new bike because of the next update you'd never go further than your first BMX. Just got in from a sick ride with my short chain stay, old rocker and M1 motor. It was 100% awesome and I'm 100% stoked with the bike as is.

@Velduro UK @vetta.si will the blockade of the strait of hormuz delay the frames that should arrive end of march?
Dude your geography sucks, not unless they pick up some oil on the way 🤪 Do you mean the Suez Canal? To be fair there’s so much ordinance being spat out in all directions there’s every chance something will go wrong

24kg in size large without pedals, with tubes and basic shock on the cheaper full version sounds a little heavier than I expected...

They've consistently been a bit chunky in every review.

PB's large with a coil, dual cush core, Hope Al wheels and 1 DH tire weighed 25.4 kgs/ 56#s for example. For sure could be made lighter but I consider dual DH tires mandatory on an e-bike.

I think high end DH wheels & dual DH tires but no CC, still weighs about 54#s.

yes, and hope alu rims, also used as boat anchors. no sane person rides those. that bike was from the local hope distributor, so he is forced to run them

so please, use your common sense before you start to bash again, thanks

25kg is a good number for me and how I ride. I for one welcome a heavier big hitting bike as long as the weight is in the right places.

I've found burlier, heavier bikes carry speed better, more planted on tech and definately more stable in the air, of all the eebs I've owned and tried (santa cruz, cube, haibike, orbea, specialized, rocky mountain, pivot, mondraker) my 28.5kg haibike was the most fun and confidence inspiring. It was a tank but I felt safe to push it.

Everyone wanting lightweight ebikes but full power should be looking in the trail catagory instead of asking for compromise

What's your Rogue build, size and weight Sethimus?

It's not a bash, I tried to buy the Rogue but they wouldn't sell me one. I'm pretty weight weenie but I think it's a rad bike and the slightly higher weight (from what I'm seeing) didn't bother me.

I just think the Rogue frame weighs about a kg more than other similar builds, in part maybe because of the I-track. But I've never weighed it, just seems every build I've seen is a little chunky.

I can like a product and still note the Cons. I ordered a Wild, I'm stoked, but HCR adds a whole headache and led me to order both electronic shifting and an electronic dropper last week, something I never thought that I would do actually. Ultimately, it's a con, but I'm still stoked on the overall product.

To be clear, I'm not against heavier ebikes as my current 180mm travel Specialized Kenevo with full Enduro/ downhill set up is just over 25kg with the 700 battery and as I'm around 100kg all kitted up not unmanageable.

However my main point was that I am surprised they couldn't get this down closer to the Unno Mith with the same DJI / Avinox motor and battery.

as no one of the current frame buyers has weighted the framekit and all distributors also think that is not necessary there is not much data to work from. i made my own list based off robs build and all the known weights of the parts he used and i will probably end up in the 23.5-24kg zone. buying the flash 38 didn’t help in bringing the weight down. my lighter parts probably only cancel out the heavy parts rob used

The rubber chainstay protector on my XL has been damaged and is starting to come off after only 130km. Measuring the width of the chainstays approx. 300mm (size 12 shoe) behind the pedal axle, they are around 190mm wide. By comparison, my XL Reign E+ is around 150mm, and my wifes large Polygon N8xe is around 165mm. Neither suffer from shoe rub.

They taper in quite quckly as you get closer to the crank axel - so a size 10 or 8 shoe probably wont experience this. Wonder if the rumoured longer chainstays might be better jn this respect?

Awesome trails, great scenery and riding on point!

Bike isn't exactly silent unfortunately. Motor rattle?
The bike has a full EXT build – EXT Era and E-Storia, which is why it may be a bit noisier. Our Rogue is also a prototype bike which was made around November; all frames and bikes arriving in April will already include the latest Avinox technology.

I find a lot of the camera systems like the Osmo etc amplify the sounds of the trails. I suspect if you were on the bike it wouldn't seem as noisy.
I've got footage on both my Santa Cruz Nomad with a bafang add on and my Norco vlt bigfoot, and is easy noisier than in real life.

Tbh it was only the start of the video that was noisy, could have been a mic hitting a zip or anything, the rest of the video sounded awesome, tyres and trail chatter
