Rain is annoying - Our Sunday has been stopped due to it.

My son’s football match is cancelled today due to a flooded pitch, after lots falling the last couple of days and this event is cancelled too , so we miss out on watching an epic race battle.

Looks like the heavy rain is forecast in the UK all this week. So that will probably stop us riding our bikes in school half term week as well

🤬

Seeding runs are all up on Redbull TV and their YT channels.
There's some pretty spectacular riding and some even more spectacular crashes.

Shame that the seeding runs were the ultimate decider of who wins and loses.
Also a shame that the weather prevented a couple of the ladies from actually placing in any way at all as they weren't able to do a full top to bottom, so didn't get a seeding run in - hence official ranking of DNS.

Bulldog, Roger V, Troy Brosnan, Jacko and Theo all had some pretty mean crashes and there's more coming to light as riders post their own footage to YT.

It’s a bummer the race was canceled, but at least they showed the seeding runs. Asa looked like he is from another planet. He was so fast and had so much style in his run! I don’t think the race results would’ve been much different than the seeding runs.

I don’t think the race results
I wonder about that. JG had crashes in practice & chilled his way down in seeding for example. Others would have gone at 80-90% of full send, knowing there was no jeopardy. The top guys are the top guys but I reckon a few will be rueing what they did not foresee.

I think Ronan would have been much closer, if not beating Asa.
Wales he got done by a puncture in his seeding run, straight from the gate, which meant he was out first in the race when it was wetter.

He was cruising down in the seeding run on Saturday

There were a number of notable absences in the Hardline field this year...I wonder if some of them had team orders to consciously decline the invitation.
WCDH has become more like F1 lately, with a lot more at stake and more control from UCI. Less ability for these guys to make their own choices when it comes to the more extreme pre-season comps and festivals.

Who are you thinking of?

This is inevitable as it becomes more serious and theres more money at stake. But I think thats good overall for the sport.

I was thinking, did Asa get the full payout for winning? I think BK said it was about 75k a few years ago.

On absentees, Hardline is an anomaly though. It's always been an invitiational with a very varied field & the results should be seen through that prism. There are definitely teams & sponsors who don't want their riders jeopardising a hefty world cup investment & those with something to prove - Frameworks & Pivot sent half their squads.

And it's only two years since the Welsh version was padded out with Josh Bryceland, Brendan Faiclough, Josh Lowe & a bunch of other guys who realistically are never getting anywhere near a WC podium.

Tuhoto Ariki Pene, Sam Gale, George Brannigan, Tahnee Seagrave, Robyn Goomes, Cami Noguera, Sam Blenkinsop, Nina Hoffman, Vali Holl, The Athertons, Szymon Godziek and obviously the recovering Matt Jones. Plus a bunch of others whose names I cannot recall offhand

But with that said, none of these riders may have been invited.

Sad that there's no racing in SA, NZ, ARG or AU, seeing as there's some of the best trails on the planet in those countries.
Korea seems a strange choice.

I also think that the season is too short - not so much in time span, but in terms of the number of race events.

I think its good they have increased the number of rounds, but will it have taken its toll by the final round?

Added in the world champs!

Will be very interesting to see what the Korean track is like! From some early pics it looks good, and its always interesting going to a new country/track.
I'm half ecstatic, half deeply deeply troubled.

South Korea could be £5000. :O

Cool for fans, shop window for factory teams, rough on Privateers.

Tahnee and Matt Jones were both out due to recovering from injuries.

Tuhoto was very fast at Hardline Wales from memory.

Apparently the track is very steep, no pedalling sections.

Good for some of the riders!
