normally the speed sensor multi point increase the efficiency (alike avinox) by detecting rear wheel slide (alike ABS) and modulate the power delivery in function

Just affraid if this is not more contra productive with such a small power. Some slip in hard terrain is OK.

And question is if this traction control is implemented with Avinox. Do you have some link, where is written something about this?

no link, just personal analysis.
According that i reading about the avinox, who everybody selling his effiency. I estimate is adhesion result of the multipoint speed sensor (and his great software) and i think that all motors (major brands) next géneration (2027) will have this kind of speed sensor.
 
Yes, will have this speed sensor. But is really questionable if is implemented any traction control. Bafang showed hill holding with this sensor.
Efficency is not coming from this.
 
I would like to hook up the M510RS or M560RS to a Rohloff hub. Since the Rohloff uses a specific 4 bolt mounting for the disc, it is not possible to mount the encoder. I could order an ABS type brake disc for the Rohloff hub. But the number of teeth differ. I believe it is 42 for the Bafang system and 56 for the ABS disc. Is this number fixed in the software or can it be changed? Does it even matter? Or is there a workaround by giving in a different wheel diameter?

It might be close enough so you can compensate the wrong speed reading due to different amount of the openings just adjusting the wheel size in the display settings.
 
Hopefully I'll be able to test my M560rs next weekend. Still waiting for soms missing brake parts. Little stressed about the possible noise level, almost NO info is found on the net of the M560rs.

I doubt Bafang will allow to enter number of holes of speed disc. I hope they will also release a firmware version for "old school" sensor - one magnet.
 
That will defeat the whole "RS" concept? I will have a custom disc made if it does not work out. I have Magura MDR-C discs and the tone wheel can be separated.

Mate, hardly would work custom disc. I doubt we would be able to set hole number. Also diameter of disc wont be the same.

But I can add this function to BBR to set hole number and will be possible to use old and new sensor.

Such a stupid thing and how much troubles it will cause. :(

I wonder if the ABS sensor brake caliper bracket would work.
That would make a nice and clean installation!
I have no clue about the dimensions of the Bafang sensor yet. It will arrive in 1-2 months.
Or if a Bosch ABS sensor is adaptable to the Bafang system.

I doubt will be same signal (but could be), connector needs to be rewelded.
Also same number of holes needs to be saved (or can be compensated by circumference if not much off).
 
It looks like the one way bearing should disengage the motor and the gears is seized in my M560RS. Now spinning the crank arms also drags and spins the motor. The motor has about 300 miles. I used it with 50A 60V 3000W Innotrace M560 controller

Bafang still has not fixed the old issue existed since M600

 
Your new motor mod is putting extreme loading on a bearing not designed for that amount of torque ( you can't blame Bafang for that ). I would suspect that the shaft temperatures are also way above the designed limits and probably melting the internal lubrication enough that it dissipating or not effective.

There are various manufacturers of various quality of these bearings and you will need to download the spec sheets of the bearings, from memory of the development of TSDZ2 motor there was one manufacturer whose bearing could cope with the higher loadings, you will have to contact a bearing dealer or do research on the net to find the spec sheets.

You will need to log somehow the internal motor temps ( not just rotor temp ) as well to find just where the balance point of power and too hot a motor components is, I would suspect that the max Watts over a period of time won't be much more than what Bafang has designed the motor to cope with.

I know on the TSDZ2 motors I played with, I spent as much time designing heat dissipation and better motor physical conectivity to the outside air temp, as I did playing with increasing the upper power limits.

And I do like the new VESC controller board.
 
Did you run the full 50A 60V 3000w for extended periods of time? That is a considerable amount more than the rest of the unit would have been designed for. Time to pull it all apart and see what failed.
 
I did. All those 300 miles I used it at maximum assist level at 3000W for commute and wheelies.

If your controller doesn't throw an error when the clutch is locked, you can firmly lock the gears. The original controller, however, throws an error about excess current when pedaling, likely due to the generation.

Now I realized hill holding works over rotor axle magnet when I seeing one way bearing. ;)
 
Can anybody actually report on the ride feel of the new motor? How if the torque sensing? How does it feel uphill compared to the previous versions?
 
There is new torque sensor in RS, but have not tested yet.
I would go now for normal M560, latest is quiet. RS could come in standard noisier gears.
That new speed disc, I dont see here any advantage. And you would need to do some adapter to install small speedsensor for old frame.

I do not have experience with regular m560 torque sensor, but I used m600 and m560RS torque sensors with VESC controllers and I believe the m560RS torque sensor is better. When I press the pedals on m600 real hard (while doing wheelies for instance) the m600 torque sensor can become slightly less responsive for some time after it (like it increases the deadband) while m560RS does not have such behavior and works always the same. It might be the firmware thing though.

I am now debating myself if I should get the latest silent m560 or potentially the m560rs. So far not enough real world reviews on the rs to make this decision.

Also what do people think about the unusually high LVC cut-off at 3.2v?
Feels like a shame to loose about 10% of capacity due to that

I would still wait for RS, to intruduce it officially. My experience, first testing versions are still with some bugs.

And with that LVC, check BBR device.
