Pre-order starts next month - Next Crestline Avinox frame set

On the spectre thread someone posted a screen shot from Troydon saying Jan 1. But who know that was back in september.
I do remember that but I was guessing we'd get a heads up by now if it was going on sale in 2 days.

It does remove some rattle, as well as VPP kickback.
It’s tough though, because I compare my current emtb to my dream machine Anakin V2. Which has an amazing rear suspension platform with no kickback and no noise. So when I hop on my emtb any noise is noticeable to me, as well as suspension performance. Both bikes have identical ZEBs and identical Telum’s…..other than fine tuning for bike weight differences.

I've got another question for you regarding the Sidekick hub on your e-bike: Do you notice the slower pick up of the E13 hub on technical bits (or otherwise), a common complaint on pedal bikes, or does the E-bike make that delay all but disappear?

Thanks!

Got my pre-order in through a shop. Well, hoping that means they have some allocated I guess?

For you guys that already have one, is it too much to go dual crown? I’m thinking I’ll just go with a Zeb, but I’ve seen a few dual crown crestlines and man it looks fun and I know the Avinox won’t have a problem moving the bike on the climbs. I’ve never actually ridden a dual crown bike though so idk how big the hit on turn radius is on climbs or if it’s even noticeable.

what shop?

what shop?
Pro bike supply. Just a deposit. Im hoping that means they are for sure getting some though vs me pre-ordering when they open up direct from crestline. My issue is I’m on Oahu and crestline won’t ship the battery here. Pro bike will do it for me plus I might ask them to add some stuff before shipping it.

Probikesupply are local to me and solid guys. Im sure they already got an allocation. Were you able to just get a frameset or did you need to do a full build?

They didn’t ask. I assumed it’s all framesets again? It was minimal interaction. Either way it’s all good, I’ll figure it out. I’ll be selling my amflow so if it’s complete bike I’ll just swap parts I want to keep.

It wouldn’t be an issue as far as the bike and handling, I think the bike is a bit front heavy with the 800wh battery, it extends up to the controller/screen. Because of that I wouldn’t want to add more weight, for me it’s not worth it. I’m running a zeb at 180, could always go 190 if needed. But everyone is different in their preference and how they like a bike to handle.

I do notice slower pick up in technical bits, which is why I have it set in the middle setting. I don’t prefer the greatest degree setting, as it makes technical shelf climbing more challenging.

Did they tell you what the total final price would be?

Edit: never mind, just realized you don’t know if it’s a complete bike

Dual crowns on both my bikes (Dreadnought v2 & Pole Voima). Zero issues with steering range.

I run dual crowns cause I'm heavy (240lbs). They flex less, hold a line better, and feel a ton more solid / supportive. Did not realize how much twangy weirdness the single crown was introducing at my weight until the first downhill section on a 40. Night and day better.

Trying to decide if I'm going 190mm or 203mm airsprings on the Crestline (assuming I can snap one up!). The ATC of the 203 would be 6mm longer than the 180 Zeb while the 190 would be 7mm shorter. Theoretically the stanchions on the 190 setup could drop down in the crowns to match the Zeb's ATC and preserve the intended 63.5 head angle.

FYI Running a dual crown with a straight 1.125" steerer on the Crestline with the zs56/zs56 head tube means you can go zero stack for both top/bottom with 6mm reach adjust headset from Works in UK. Kinda slick.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Hope everyone is doing well, and wishing you all the very best for 2026.

Sorry if I've been slow to answer any emails. Been juggling holidays plus trying to get things lined up to send out pre order info.

Quick note for anyone who asks: I should be sending out the pre-order email in about a week—most likely Saturday, January 10th.

I’m in the process of getting the website updated and all the options loaded. I’m not exactly a web wizard, so it takes me a bit longer, but most of it is coming together now.

Please note that the release timing on these frames is affected by parts and/or components that are currently under manufacturer embargo. Because of that, I won’t be able to openly discuss any details or give an exact ship date just yet, but rest assured, you’ll be getting the latest and greatest as soon as that date hits. Please be mindful in how this information is shared and avoid statements like "Troydon says..." :) This will aid in not getting me in trouble for things I have not said. haha

I’m genuinely excited about this one. What I will say is that this is the quietest Crestline frame I’ve ever ridden, both on the way up and, more importantly, on the way down.

Cheers to 2026! If you make it through Bellingham or up to Whistler this year, don’t hesitate to shoot me an email, I’d love to get a ride in with any or all of you if I am around when you pass through.

If I were a betting man I'd be putting money on it being Avinox related

For sure and I don't think we'll know exactly the changes coming with the M2 for a bit longer.
We'll likely find out next week that the Crestie is getting the M2, and that the M2 is quieter, and that's it.
I'd be shocked if they altered the battery pack as well, but who knows?

There were rumours about next motor to be slighty heavier, so I think it’s becouse of some added gears making M2 totally quiet on descents. Also M2S version, propablly made same way as Bosch race version with lighter components.

I feel very, very confident this will not be the case. The embargo protecting the product will be lifted completely before any bike is launched with said product.

My money is on a new shock and not the motor, but I could be wrong about that.

I'm trying hard to convince myself not to buy a .2 after already having a .1 but that just shows how amazing this bike is, it's worth wasting hard earned money. I told myself that if it has an idler I'll buy (knowing it won't) otherwise I'll sit on my hands. Big mental gymnastics going on over here.

Wait for the .3 and leave some fun for the rest of us 🤣

HA.... I have the feeling everyone who wants a Cresty will get one. And let's be honest, Avinox is the biggest draw for most people and they'd be satisfied with it in any frame. In the next few months the emtb market is going to be flooded with Avinox options. In the not too distant future they will rule the market in all forms of 2 wheels, no doubt.

Truth is I'd let my .1 go for cheap but they'd have to be ok with me riding it until the .2 arrives.

It's interesting that they covered up the rear hub area. Very long shot, but could there be a link back there? Somehow imagining a six-link design aesthetic over a VPP redux.
Im sure its just to cover up the m2 motor. His latest interview with vital specifies there are minor revisions to the frame. Example: brake cable runs along the chainstay instead of the seatstay now.

Man I really hope that you are correct. Getting all of the details this coming week would make my day for sure.
Here's hoping!

Many thoughts and hunches, but cutting to the chase...

Anyone know what the legal logistics and tariff/duty situation might look like related to making a Whistler bike purchase pilgrimage from the US?

But then AFAIK any new Avinox related bikes won't be officially announced/released until Sea Otter Classic.

Unless AMflow have something they are gonna surpise folk with at the start of the year with a new motor in it.
