For sure, they're all using the same cells and motor construction techniques. The reduction drive design has a small effect, but overall, tire choice or a riders weight/fitness is going to play a much larger role.
If you set 65nm and 600 watts on both systems it should be very similar amounts of power consumption.

The running change to the M1 was tighter side seals to keep the output shaft backlash in check. It's a temporary solution, as the seals will wear, and all m1 drives will develop more noise over time. Unless one freshens up those seals as they do wear.

Thanks for posting and it's such good insider info and really explains why people have a wide range of experiences with noise and drag. Did they get the update, is the motor worn in, etc...
 
This rear suspension is so good my fork feels like hot garbage now(Tuned Zeb). May be time to try a coil up front.

I’m seeing a lot of chatter about motor rattle and this thing is not bad no worse than my Gen4 Bosch.

Has anyone who’s got their Rogue experimented with the rear STD/Pro flip chip? Any noticeable characteristic changes?
 
Ordered a Frame Only in Medium, looking forward to building it up in the Spring when it's due to arrive in the UK, I may go for an Ohlins build as I already have the right size Ohlins Coil shock for the rear. Anyone stuck a coil on it yet?

I dont think this is true. What I believe they have done is changed the gear backlash by tightening the tolerances of the gearing inside. Tight tooth profile tolerances reduce initial backlash, meaning less noise.

That is certainly second hand information, so take it for what it's worth.
Just speculating, but as a running manufacturing change, backlash reduction would have been a significantly more involved (costly) alteration, would add to friction and increase noise under load. A friction damper would make more sense in this case.
I wonder when the first actuated clutch mechanism will hit the market ? Decoupling the motor and transmission from the output shaft entirely seems beneficial.
 
A YouTuber's review from Mallorca, riding trails/enduro on very wet terrain due to the rain.

He's 1.83 meters tall and says his size L fits him perfectly. His cranks don't touch the ground. He often mentions that the 29/29 wheels handle very well in tight corners. The rear suspension is very well designed. He loves it. He also finds the front suspension satisfactory.

I'm still following your posts; I have an XL frame on order for April. I'm 1.89 meters tall. Cheers.

My Cannondale Monterra SL is Shimano powered and the noises…… it’s like a Tie Fighter with some loose bolts…..looking forward to getting my frame in April!!

I noticed in a previous post you were coming from a Crestline. I was wondering if you could give a bit more of a comparison as the Crestline and the Velduro are the two bikes I am looking at to upgrade to. I’m California based as well so riding the same dirt and mainly am looking to descend steeply as fast as possible. I like the idea of the Crestline’s taller stack and longer travel for that kind of riding. The adjustability is cool on the newer frames but the dropper insertion length is a bit of an issue. The Velduro’s low stack and short rear and for gnarly descents does worry me a little. I am curious as to your thoughts on what is the more capable bike. I get the Velduro is plush but when I read about bike like Santa Cruz v10 they say it’s not super comfortable but it’s more capable than some more comfortable bikes. Just curious to what your thoughts are. Thanks!!
 
I'd say it's the Coil vs Air thing as my 160mm Zebs feel and perform better than my 180mm Factory 38s on my other bike. Still gonna go upto 170mm on the Zeb though

To me both bikes feel super close ride/geo-wise. Medium rouge, Rh2 Crestline. I’ve already had some faster times on the rogue vs my year on the Crestline. Rear suspension on the rogue is more supple. Build quality on the Crestline is top-notch, rogue is good.l but not the save attention to detail. I’d honestly be riding the Avinox Cresti if I was faster on the ordering back in July.
You can’t go wrong with either one! Get whichever one you have access to honestly!

In terms of build quality, what are the key issues on the rogue? Is there anything that can be improved at home or does it need to be a design change?

Let me be more concise, build of the frame on both bikes is top notch! The details that differ are routing tunnels, headset that is supplied, and seat collar, are some that come to mind. We’re talking little things. In terms of value, the rogue is a 9.7 and the Crestline a 9.3.

Very precise ranking system!

I'm down to only 3 bike candidates, the Rogue, the Wild or the Regulator. Outside chance of the VLT Ranger but's got a bit weird geo. Eager to see what the M2 brings to the table before deciding so it's fun watching to see what you guys discover about these bikes.

What a time to be alive. LOL

I've been on a wild for the past 2 years almost and purchased the rogue due to several frame failures (on my 4th frame in under 2 years) had both alloy and carbon and although I've had issues and many of them, orbea have warrantied them

The wild for me feels a perfect fit for my riding and style but it's time for a change for me

Thank you for the input. Did they all fail in the same place?

That's a lot of failures quite frankly. I break rims and shred tires, but have never broken a frame. That's an alarm for me and I've already heard about common warranty denials from this brand.

It (the Wild) is a nice bike, but I think I need to remove it from the list when it's at it's core so similar to the Regulator, which doesn't fail and has fantastic warranty coverage.

No, every frame had its own seperate issue

Frame 1 - 2023/24 alloy - cracked stay on the brake tabs and a crack where the top tube joins the seat tube, warranty turnaround - 4 weeks

Frame 2 - 23/24 carbon - misaligned frame both the linkage and the frame, warranty turnaround - 4 weeks

Frame 3 - 23/24 carbon - crack found on bottom of seat tube, warranty turnaround - 6 weeks

Frame 4 - 25/26 alloy frame and gen5 motor sent out, still boxed as new and on sale as I've lost faith in orbea and sick of the downtime off the bike so ordered the velduro

One thing I will say is although they may take their time sending out frames, they always have sent one out without issues. I heavily customise my bike to my riding style and preference and they didn't deny a warranty claim once even after seeing each build

It's a shame really as the frame/motor is just sitting there waiting to be built, I havent seen any of the above faults reported with the 25/26 frames but I've had enough

Thought it was just me... on my 4th Pivot firebird frame in 2.5 years. 2 had similar issues, aluminum pivot bung dis-bonding from carbon frame and 3rd cracked lower shock mount and chain stay. Also can't catch a break on my SCOR 4060z, 2 rear triangles cracked in 4 months.

The annoying thing about it is it shouldn't be happening in the first place.... It's all good getting a warranty replacement but then you're off the bike for the foreseeable until it turns up. I've never been interested in a second or spare bike, I can do everything on the one but maybe I should get a second one as a backup for when the inevitable happens 😂🤔
