Was amazing first time there really enjoyed it can't wait to go backNice bit of choppaz
love it there so many hidden trails![]()
The scenery is beautiful there.Rode Hawes trail system today in Mesa Arizona. This was my first challenging riding, and first trip back at Hawes since crashing so hard here it required surgery.
Also, this was my first ride with the Assegai DH MaxxGrip tires. OMG what an amazing improvement over the Conti Kryptotal enduro soft I had been running. The Assegais finally gave me the traction and feel I was looking for since moving to the desert!

That's why I'm being specific about the exact Kryptotal I am disappointed in. For all I know a Kryptotal DH Super Soft would be more comparable. The scenery is beautiful there.
But in terms of tires, comparing apples to oranges. Maxxis MaxxGrip should be compared to Conti's Super Soft. But the main thing, of course, is that you like them yourself.
I'd go Thursday because Wednesday and particularly Friday look horrendous! We were considering camping and riding there next week, but it looks like there may be some clouds Friday. Think it’s worth going anyway?

Yes nothing worse than clouds , I could tell you some horrific stories about them.I'd go Thursday because Wednesday and particularly Friday look horrendous!
Yeah, I’ve heard about those cloud things. I even found an instagram post where they appear to have really impacted the day. Safe travels. We were considering camping and riding there next week, but it looks like there may be some clouds Friday. Think it’s worth going anyway?

Asked Santa for a Timber bellThe rock was too slippery. The gap was wider than I thought. The bridge was broken. The log was rotten and I had to hiked-a-bike through the boulder fields.
…and while pushing through one of the four boulder fields, three female hikers quietly snuck up behind me …I swung around quickly, nearly missing the closest hiker …I apologize for my language as they passed. I couldn’t believe it. FFS
Anyways, the ride down was brutal. Washed out trails . A few wrong turns. My wrists were killing me. I should’ve stayed in bed.
Now the ringing in my ears is getting louder. Ding-Ding

I think they're called Mud Tyres ?Check them tyres
With something like 320 sunny days a year in metro Phoenix, Arizona; trails are nearly always dry. Our downside is the 108° (42°C) days here in the Summer!Pretty jealous of anyone with dry trails, constantly getting wet from below around here.
