Forbidden Druid - Avinox Powered

Anyone have a take off shock from their edruid they would want to part ways with?

Sounds like I'll need to replace the rear shock due to the damaged schrader valve.

Some shocks, as shjin mentioned above allowed you to just remove the assembly, but it looks like the current Vivid has the valve assembly integrated into the can. You can replace the valve core though.

$80 for the can replacement will be cheaper than buying a new shock though.

Did you receive it that way? Because that seems like a warranty replacement.

I'll look into this, it's my gf LitE base model so it's not a zeb, it's a RockShox Super Deluxe Select+. I'm not sure where it got damaged, she hasn't even ridden it yet, we just screwed the shock pump on and all the air pissed out.

We are sending it in got warranty but with us running out of nice days I wanted her to get a few rides in so I was hoping to find a takeoff at a decent price in the meantime.

I have a question for the group, I noticed the rear shock appears to be installed upside down when we received the bike. Could this have played a role in the damaged schrader valve?

I was wrong, thanks GravityDT

any suggest on vivid setup? It eats up the mid travel very easily and the result is that I frequently get pedal strikes

75 kg geared
I have put in an Xtra volume spacer. Today was the first ride 1400 metres of descending and it definately felt better. A bit more midstroke support and didn't seem to blow through its travel as quickly

34t bash and just longer chainring bolts? looks decent.
Yes, the Bolts are included with the Bashuard.

Due to the High Pivot, a normal Bashguard is no problem with the Druid E. With the other Avinox bikes, this is only possible if you remove the chain guide.

Could be as simple as just needing to replace the valve core. Would give that a try. If you’re near a good shop with a suspension tech, they should get you up and running pretty fast. (Apologies if you already stated this here, I’m in too many forums to keep track)

Soaked again.

Feels a lot more supported with less sag, Dropped the forks down a few Psi as well, other than that it's still on RS/Forbidden recommended settings, maybe 1 click less LSC on the fork

Gonna change the bars out for some 50mm risers though, after riding it on some known trails I think it's the way to go

If anyone in the Uk is looking for an s3, PedalSyndicate at FoD have got one for sale, £7699

Both I and my lbs tried that first, its a hairline crack at the base of the schrader valve itself. Forbidden said they would help ensure this is handled, they suspect that it was damaged by us connecting the shock pump and putting weight on the bike at the same time.

I would kindly ask some of you folks that have ridden other ebikes and now on a druid core some input regarding the playfullness of this bike.
Last year I had a santacruz heckler 9 mx that I really enjoyed riding, was planted enough in rougher/faster descents but also playfyul and easy to get off the ground and throw around on the track ... however the shimano ep8/darfon battery combo was not great from the start and over 3000km degraded more and was struggling to keep up with other buddies that I ride with that have levos and other bosch ebikes ... this year sold the heckler and got a turbo levo G3 , while the bike is quite playful I also find it to be too "nervous" on rougher tracks , i definitely miss the feeling I had on the heckler on the rougher tracks, looks like on the levo you need to be a more active rider on rough faster descents and are days when I might be more tired and feel sketchy on the levo and wish I still had the heckler (with a brose motor /battery combo).
Looking for another ebike , I am not worried at all that the forbidden druid core will plow through the rough descents , my concerns are the bike might feel too slugish , glued to the ground and not playful enough with the high pivot suspension , will be my first bike with high pivot and do not have where to test the bike near me.

How nimble/easy do you find the core to get off the ground and hop over stuff and trhow it on the trail compared to other bikes?

Whoa, the eDruid has one of the tallest stacks out there. Looks like you're already running a fair stack of spacers and 35mm risers. Did you size down?

Little questions for the ppl with the Transmission AXS model. Just out of curiosity, does the derailleur shift, when the bike is off, when connected over the cable to the motor? And if not, is there a way to have the bike switched on with no support while pedaling?
Just asking if you need an AXS battery as a fallback option with you at all time, if you run out of usable battery or if you want to pedal a bit without the motor.
On the Giant Reign I had before, you could have the bike turned on but switch support to 0.

The bike has to be on for shifting to work. But you can run it in zero support mode . I did hit 0% on the battery once, and the shifting still worked. Surprisingly , the motor still gave support too, so 0% battery isn’t actually dead

How many spacers came stock? Are you at the forbidden recommended psi already ?

Yay winter

Might go stiffer again in the rear after riding some Golfie tech yesterday and brakes need a better bleed done but got the fork where it needs to be I think

What sag are you running? I am at 29% with 3 volume reducers. Seems to be getting closer to how I want it. Compression maxed out on vivid select+

How are you liking the fast fenix?
I am already familiar with the Fast Fenix shock from my previous bike and I really like it very much. It is tuned for my weight an the Druid E kinematics. For me, it is one of the best shocks currently available on the market. In the Forbidden, I didn't notice too many advantages over the Vivid shock. That's why I opted for the Vivid because of its adjustability and weight advantage. Overall, however, the Fenix 2.0 has incredibly good sensitivity and also has more counterforce in the middle suspension range than my Vivid shock absorber, as it is currently set up. So if you do not mind the additional weight (+200g with 500 LBS spring) and want more mid stroke support, go for it.

Around 32%, not touched comp or rebound as it feels pretty decent with the recommended settings

Yeah I seem to feel the rear bottom out a bit more frequently than I would prefer. Nothing really harsh but it is on drops and impacts where I wouldn't expect it to so I am reluctant to push things further. The bottom out adjuster is set on the middle setting. If I go full firm it seems to take away much of the feeling I like off the top. So I guess I am just still playing around with everything trying to find the sweetest spot. Look the thing Flys I have set many dh prs already so no complaints here
