Unno Mith released with DJI motor, 800Wh battery

Hey, I was just answering the duty/vat question!

Personally, I do buy local, and I also buy from brands that have good support, look what happened to Pole owners…

If I was an importer/distributor of Unno bikes I’d be a bit miffed if I couldn’t get bikes from the manufacturer but customers could order direct and go around me.

There’s no price benefit by purchasing direct anyway, from what I can see, quite the opposite.
Apologies, I wasn't dissing your post just venting on how to save all the VAT and other charges which will push your bike close to £12k

No worries, comparing the brink price of the Mith Race to the Unno website it’s nearly £900 more expensive to order direct anyway.

And something like an ebike is almost 100% certain to get pinged for duty and VAT etc, quite rightly. 👍

It's very similar to Antidote Bikes

I checked with my mate’s shop in the US, apparently Unno has informed all the US shops that they have suspended all sales in the US until 2026.

I checked with my local mate’s shop here in Scotland, he said they’re preorder only. The race is £8095 and the Pro is £9995, so the same prices that are on the website.

Agreed but if you go direct the vat and duties push it way beyond the retail price and yet the shimano based version is still priced at between £8 & £12k, madness.

Yep, that’s the official UK RRP presumably, same as on the Brink website.

It’s more expensive with duties and VAT to buy them off the Unno website to the UK.

Prefer to buy from dealer, can put recharge through on C/Card if any issues. Spoke to dealer in Oxfordshire no s3 pro yet, said will call back as soon as they have more information.

"have to change your riding style and there is an adjustment period?

Next.
Bike seems to tick all the boxes with design and weight but that review really doesnt complement it riding wise.
It seems like the suspension is very stiff ,same as the older model (almost the exact same conclusions).
Waiting for other reivews as it was meant to be my next ride...

Forbidden, UNNO and Amflow not available here. Levo was a bit of a let-down. At this point I am hoping that Bosch will deliver with the power upgrade, but I fear this season is gone before we can get some bikes.

...

I absolutely love the look of this bike but I have reservations on seatpost arrangement.

The s2 comes with a 180mm and I feel it’s likely that 180 dropper would need to be raised to size me correctly. I currently run a 200mm on my large whyte e160rs and it fits nicely.

With a 180mm dropper on the Unno I’d be worried I’d have to raise it too high as I like my seatpost collar to be slammed and well out the way.

I know the seapost insertion length has been improved, but improved enough? I guess sitting on one would be the only way forward to check!
The bane of the Unno in the past has been shallow insertion depth/ excessive seat post height. Although 70mm ID is improved, it's still pretty shallow, most likely due to its interrupted seat tube design (pretty much what happens with that kind of shock placement). Outfitting an S1 with a mere 150mm dropper is fairly telling in this regard. And that low and interrupting shock placement necessitates a mudguard for sure, not to mention a forced mullet design for clearance reasons.

What strikes me though most about this bike is a consequence of using the DJI system that affects its appearance: It's not just the power (which you can't gleen by just looking at it), but the super compact high-density battery and smaller motor dimensions allowing a much more svelte outline. Clearly, the bike designers are stressing the aesthetics by not making the battery easily removable. And they way they pared down the VPP rear compared to other bikes adds to the visual appeal.

Bosch motor systems (not to mention most other full power mid-motors), as good and reliable as they are, and even in its more streamlined Gen 5 version, renders other bikes that employ them more ungainly and brutish. And perhaps that's the point with the more extreme enduro/downduro bikes that sport 180-200mm of travel where this aesthetic doesn't look out of place. This Unno is not that kind of bike and simply could not have been made to look this way without the DJI, and the designers of this bike just went with it. If you look at this way, the future firmware-upgraded Gen 5, or even the new Levo motor can approach and match the power of DJI, but those motor systems will not allow the bikes to be made this sexy or novel.

Still between an Unno or the Forbidden

21.2KG in size S2, DH tyres. And a little bit more in picture 2, with the coil on the proto bike. No sealant or tubes though. 180 dropper on the production bike, 150 dropper on the proto with coil.

I have to say, there’s something pretty cool about the prototype hack with all the writing around the bottom bracket area!

Ride Scotland in Boat of Garten, He was saying there’s extremely limited availability in the UK but has a call with Unno next week to discuss more orders.

Doesn't change anything, but the numbers :

I know there's some views that the UNNO won't ride so well from many of the paper numbers, but if you overlay it on the new Lardo (Levo Gen4), which whilst heavy, rides well, a lot of things line up very very similarly !! (like, exactly)

Are you actively trying to kill Levo sales?
Heavier
Slower
Less cool

🤣🤣🤣😮

It's just shit to ride. But if weight and power is your thing and ride quality is not, then it's your bike!
Wow you sure are well informed. Wish I had the opportunity to ride and compare both of these bikes.
