I have picked a motor up in my LBS and it feels really light. It has a load of deep cooling fins to keep the temperature low.

The bottom bracket protector removes really easy and then it is just a few bolts to remove and drop the motor straight out. Nice and easy If ever needed.

The gen3 had the bump from thr turned motor but a thinner downtube from removing it from the bottom. I wish reviews would talk more about centre of gravity and how it influences handling rather than praising how powerful the motor is.

Honestly, the silver Amflow (with some parts swapped) is top of the list at the moment.
I just wish it was sold by local shops for better support should something go wrong, but my closest shop is pretty rubbish and only sells trek, whyte and scott.
I also wish the lower model came in black too.

Unfortunately I don't drive and they're miles away in Manchester.
I wouldn't call that perfect for the Wirral.
A bike shop in Wirral would be perfect for Wirral :P

delivery is one thing, but should something go wrong, I'd prefer to be able to visit the shop with my bike.

Closest place I've found to deliver was MTB monster. They offer a ride wrapping service too.
I wrapped my levo myself, but it took me a good few hours

From those that have been on both the Gen 4 and the Amflow, the DJI has the best motor not just power and weight but pick up, response etc, same for its Batt. But the Gen 4 has the better ride quality and damping as you would expect TBH, taking into account the amount of time they have been doing this for.

The Levo's also heavier, so will have a larger variance between spring and unsprung weight, meaning it's easier to get the bike to feel nice.

Not sure which Amflow you have, but I think the base one rides nicer than the posh one.

That’s the problem right there, I think they got lazy and put out a product that is overpriced and underwhelming. People giving them a pass because they have been doing it longer, what a shame.

I thought the same, after converting my kenevo to full 29er mostly because of pedal strikes. You get a 10mm shorter crank though than was specced on my 2021 kenevo though. Won't help with bashing the battery cover into tree stumps though

Just my opinion obviously but here's my suggestion.......
Before you ride it;
Stem, Bars, Wheels and tyres
Then;
Brakes, grips
When things wear out;
Gears and possibly seatpost.

If I purchased one, I'd be swapping pedals, stem, bars, gears, brakes, wheels, possibly grips.
Probably suspension in the future, but sticking with 36's

TBF I have changed my forks and shock too. And, I also stuck with 36's as frankly I don't leave the ground very often and certainly not by more than a metre.

vivid ultimate with the levo tune was a huge improvement on my gen 3.
I hope the genie is as smooth.

If you can find a work around, thats brilliant.
My Amflow is circa 21.5kg but I have fitted heavier components, especially the Stem, the tyres (1.2kg each), seatpost, seat and rear mech.

But, its still an 800w'h battery, lighter than my Heckler and way more powerful. I love it.

I imagine anyone who buys an S-Works Gen 4 will have a similar experience just at 50% more £'s

I'm glad they specing in the 155 cranks that's a necessity imo. Even 160 too big as you see.
i like the high bb position too for this reason. the bash guard does look slightly higher than gen 3 so i hope to get less stump bumps.

The Amflow looks great but i would rather not support nor depend on support from China. I'll pay extra knowing/hoping the money goes to properly paid labor.

Totally get the critique but from my perspective, there are a few distinctions and USPs in the Gen 4 that are far ahead of other brands right now. It's great to see some of the impressive things other brands like Amflow and those that are using the new Bosch system are doing, and if you're looking at pure power-to-weight ratios or boutique builds, there are definitely options that compete.

But for me, the Gen 4 Levo is a clear standout and by far the best option for me, and here’s why:
  • Class 1 to Class 3 toggle is a massive game-changer. I ride 70–80% on paved coastal roads from my garage because of (lack of) proximity to trails. Many others ride from their home to trails, so being able to hit 28mph instead of being capped at 20mph is huge. Class 3 unlocks way more utility for anyone riding to the trailhead or doing mixed-use routes. My current bike is a Bulls Iconic TR 1 speed which when I bought, at the time was the only Class 3 bike with full suspension that I could take on trails. The Gen 4 is a massive upgrade to what I have and gives me complete versatility.
  • 840Wh battery + optional range extender gives it true “big day” capability—rides like Palm Canyon Epic, Catalina Island, and Tahoe become way more feasible without stressing over range.
    • Add in fast charging, and it’s perfect for multi-day rides or a full recharge during lunch.
  • The new motor in Gen 4 is no slouch either—101Nm and 666W peak power, very smooth and quiet. It's not just about torque but also delivery. I've never owned a Specialized but have long admired their brand and the team of designers and engineer for their innovation and being on the cutting edge for years.
  • Mission Control appis still the best in the game in my opinion:
    • Fully tune assist levels, peak power, support, and responsiveness.
    • Use Smart Control to automatically modulate power based on your route and desired range.
    • Track rides, diagnostics, and even system tuning in a few taps.
These are just a few of the USPs that stand out to me. For my use case of coastal road riding, plans for long adventure days, and versatility—there’s not a better all-around option right now. I’m holding out for the Alloy models in June, since even the base version of Gen 4 Levo is more than enough bike for what I need and I'm not doing any riding between now and when I hike Half Dome in a few months as that's where my training/outdoor time is allocated.
