Same thing happen with the SL2, other companys caught up. I remember the "whisper quiet" being a big part of the marketing after the TQ motor had dropped to such amazing reviews of its motor noise.

Indeed, I hope they don’t repeat what happened with the Levo SL Gen 2, where they were caught unprepared by the arrival of new competitors, primarily Fazua. They delayed the launch of the Levo SL, but it feels like they just made a small software tweak and updated their marketing materials to appear more competitive on paper than the new SL was originally designed to be.

In reality, the market quickly realized that the electronics were outdated compared to the new benchmarks, and now you can find Levo SLs at 40-50% discounts. Let's hope they don’t make the same mistake with the Levo Full Power Gen 4.

I kind of agree on this on youtubers, but real journalists reviews I have trusted. And done my decisions based on reviews done by real journalists and my own prefrences and never rode any bike I purchased Year ago I ordered Bullit and have done 1800km on it and it is just as good as reviews said, just love it.

I have to add that I had also gen2 Levo which I bought same way

Sounds like a narcissist who is not getting what he considers to be a fair slice of the cake to me.
Maybe he’s ‘borrowed’ the idea of calling out other YouTubers from JayEmm on cars.

I’m sure he’s jealous, but the current state of “influencers” and the marketing trends across industries of using them is pretty sad. You might as well consider them contracted marketing people for most of these companies. They’re often compensated in some way, sign lengthy agreements basically requiring them to only say good things about the products, and as a result are extremely biased and lacking any criticism whatsoever.

Just look at the abuse in Amazon reviews with companies including the silly “leave us a 5-star review and receive a coupon” cards in the package. Businesses have learned using the general public to be their marketing through reviews is cheaper and (used to) appears more genuine to the average consumer so they’ve completed flooded the markets with people for hire to do their advertising.

They were supposed to already be released, I saw them being tested months ago along with the new saint brakes. The person testing them told me the end of the 2024, I’m guessing they pushed them back to release at Sea Otter instead.

I actually prefer the old AXS stuff to the transmission, it shifts a lot better IMO. I’ve been a “Shimano over SRAM” guy for years so if this shifts even remotely close to their cabled drivetrains I’ll be selling my transmission stuff. Only reason I went to SRAM in the first place was for less cables and cleaner bar setup.

I mean maybe wait until we have details before jumping to conclusions? Just because it's not direct mount doesn't necessarily mean it won't be competitive.

Running an AXS Sramano setup, the only downside for an ebike is a bit fast shift, it can cause a broken chain if you miss shift a couple of gears. Have an UDH ebike but due to really mixed re-views on the t-type stuff, never really was sold on it. One reason is also that I find replacing a hanger much cheaper and I can cary a spare on my bike(always ready).
I am pretty interested how the Shimano stuff will work, and by knowing them, the lower tier won't be much different in Q than XTR but avaliable at normal prices.
Could be one of the reasons for the Spesh delay.

Shimano released pipeline seems to have got messed up with the pandemic. Saint pedals were announced in ‘22 and aren’t on the market yet.

Trying to assess any product by reviews has some value but only if you take into account it is likely at best to be one riders view or at worst merely a paid for ad.
I would guess many on here are pretty experienced bikers who should be able to make sound judgements. You could for example predict in advance that Spesh frame design and manufacture will be good.........and all but the most expensive models in the range will have mediocre components. That leaves the electronics to be judged. Integration will be good, battery options will be good. That leaves the motor to be judged.
Finally there is value for money v a lot of very worthy competitors.
