Bafang m510

Thats a good decision. M510 has also power adjustment support. Also with Assistance level %.

I see just a little change on controller board FC2.1 - few components are different or missing. So I guess some minor controller update.

By the way - do someone has immo lock on your Bafang Go app active? I saw somewhere screen with this option active.

Even there is screen with unlock button (in the middle, under the actuall track stats):

How does it work, how can I unlock it ?

It is a lock to prevent operate your ebike from display. What you mean how to unlock?

Not sure, maybe from latest Go+ version it is gone?

I'm getting ready to upgrade my M510 from fc1 to fc 2.1, while in there i'm replacing the torque sensor too. Do you know if i can do both at the same time, or upgrade the controller first, calibrate it, then replace the torque sensor and calibrate it?

As my battery version is 36V I settle for M510 at 36V. When I receive it I tell you what version of software it brings. I just received the DCP245 screen, which differs from the DPC241 WOW.

Hello, has anyone ever changed the motor bearings?
This is the list I found online, I have doubts about the torque sensor bearing, 22*42*10 60/22-10RS, it is not available on the market, has anyone disassembled it?

I disassembled my motor, I can confirm the bearing is an odd size, and doesn’t seem available 🙁 my bearing needs changing somehow its rusty 🤷🏼‍♂️

Check whether this bearing is used in M560. If yes I've found replacement bearing with outer and inner diameter like this but 1-2mm thinner, so you could use 1-2mm spacer. This information was posted by me in M560 topic as I remember.

The bearings of the M510 are the same as those of the M560.
As an alternative to the 22*42*10 bearing, there is the 22*42*9 bearing, but it is not a primary brand.

That bearing is widely available on ALiExpress, do however take the seal out of them and fill with grease before you use it, it will stop a lot of the water ingress into the motor. Over filling is not an issue as its used as a very low rpm bearing ( effectively no more than 120rpm ). The odd size seal on that drive side is also available.

Can you send me some links?

Cidi, sorry I just looked up my orders from AliExpress and the listing for that bearing is no longer there. I have to admit I didn't measure the 1 unit I ordered and are now wondering if it was supplied as a 9mm bearing ? Mmmm its in my engine and working lol

I have just found a photo and the measurements I made, I can confirm the size is 22x42x10

The bearing on the non drive side is creating a few issues in we cannot seam to find a direct replacement. The EBike Centre is now probably one of the largest Bosch Gen 4 repairers in the world. As part of their upgrade to the Gen 4 motor they adopt almost a retro engineering method of changing that bearing for an Oilite bearing and reversed seal.

Having been involved in agricultural machinery for many years an Oilite bearing is very often used in adverse conditions on slow turning shafts as the goto for longevity. Tempting to give it a go as these guys offer long warranties on their work + are used to the UK conditions which are some of the harshest in the world.

Comments please.

Seems like they know what they are doing. maybe You can offer your motor as a test piece - inform them there are numerous people who have Bafang motors that would benefit from being ‘upgraded’.

Tried that already, they are not interested in Bafang engines as I would suspect by the time you add parts and labour + delivery, you can almost buy another new engine for that price, unlike the Bosch which are around £ 800 by memory and that is exchange.

Their service is second to none, a couple of engines from within my cycling group have been sent off for repair and upgrade, always £ 300 - £ 400 by the time you add in a few bits + upgrade kit. Always a vid and couple of pictures of your motor and whats needed, a price before they begin and a relatively fast turn around. Very good company now filling a niche market need, good on them.

Thats a shame, I like the idea of the olitite bearing and single lip seal. I have ordered 2 of the 22x42x9 bearings from AliExpress, need to look into the seals as well.

Are these 2RS bearings?
What link?
Add a 35x42x1 shim ring under the bearing?

Which app and hardware are you using to connect to the motor here?

I also have an M510 and need to update these settings.
