Sure on some. Not on all. This Cube E-mtb looks fairly close to the CEF50. It's definitely piggybacked onto the the Cube OEM guard plastic, but a complete shell with internal "trusses" could be added. Honestly, I think just a CF shell would with an extra layer along the underside would work. It really doesn't have to be too fancy.😎

I'm going to wait for their feedback before I speculate further. If they can do it and it's close to my $100 limit for a small initial batch, then I'd be game for sure.💸 Otherwise, I'm fine with my CF mod.

BTW/The Cube overlay bash plate looks fantastic.👑

I have followed up on Tom's initiative with Rockguardz and now have a guard for the M820 frame, it looks very good and is a snug fit apart from a gap on one side. I have not tested it yet because I cannot use my bike at the moment due to an issue with the battery. I think they said it would retail for about £60.00 plus shipping. If any one is interested contact Rockguardz directly.

Looks awesome! We'll done!💪

I like that RG made the extra length over the BB and up the down tube joint (a vulnerable area). All for only £60/$66.79 excluding shipping (it's light so probably $20-30 to most destination) and VAT. Not bad. I was predicting twice the cost.💸

Hopefully, this will help solve the vital protection needed over the motor guard. Thus, prevent motor and frame damage potential.👊

The M820 is not a serial motor. It is canbus and the old serial devices will not work.

They do make one that is CANbus compatible. You can tell by the green triangle shaped connector.
It works, I have tried it. But it's limited to the pre-programmed settings

Hello Guys,
Did anyone cracked his frame ? (I didnt do anything, it broke by fatigue i think) and did you managed to repair it ?
If it is a SZZS original frame, their basic warranty is 3 years protection. Then you should be able to contact Jean or Linda to request a replacement. They will likely want photos and/or video of the break/crack to evaluate your claim.

Or if you want fix it yourself, just purchase a carbon repair patch kit from Amazon and look for CF frame repair YouTube vids. I fixed an old analogue carbon frame a few years ago. I recommend purchasing a hand-held power sander to make the work of sanding much faster. The repair was straight forward and seems to still be holding to this day, but I rarely ride it so...

Either way good luck.👊

This may be a situation where us in the US may place one order and have all the guards sent to one location and then forwarded from there via USPS. But that may not save that much money in the long run. I know I'm buying one and will ask the good folks at RG if this is even possible.

I forgot to mention, it also comes with a strap which I guess is to fit around the down tube and some stickers!

What are the anchor points? That is, so they match up with the two rear bolts and the front downtube mount? Just wondering if you need the strapping at all...

Also, can you take a pic of it detached or is it just a pain to take off once mounted with two-sided tape?

There are no anchor points as such, the guard clips onto the bottom of the Down-tube and there is some double sided tape on the inside bottom of the guard to attach it to the existing guard that came with the frame. The guard weight 97 grams which is about 3.5 ounces.

So, one could drill screw holes at the three OEM motor dust cover holes and use longer mounting screws to avoid the strap?

Hey folks,
I’m planning on a Fox Float X or X2 for my CEF50. I know the size, but is a trunnion style required or a standard shock? Also, are there any issues fitting either of these shocks?
Thanks!

You need standard 8x22mm bushings not trunnion... People fit 210x55mm no problem as I saw on other builds.

This was definitely a challenge with all kinds of little issues. Had to pop out the upper headset, the original was less than ideal. Had to drill out the cable port hole to fit the harness wire through and some other little things. Was surprised the build came out to 47.5 lbs with the 740 battery. Very happy with that! 210x55 stroke shock with 29er rear with no issue.

Nicely done! Yep, lots of minor mods...upgrades really IMHO.👊
Don't forget overcoming the defective OEM plastic motor cover (all 3 iterations😝) with the latest carbon fiber, over guard, protector, work-around thanks to MrFixit.🍻

Going to get one of the guards for sure. I've got a couple on other bikes and they are fantastic!

Does someone have the exact measurements of the shock-mounting-bolts?
I destroyed the Hex of one of those aluminium-bitches...
Maybe even a place to buy them?
Thanks a lot!

Oh really? That’s great as I was hoping for a bit more travel than 150. Has anyone measured the vertical travel increase with a longer stroke?

I emailed them and they sent me the link to the guard. Ordered mine this morning.

Ok to the USA, looks like $60.37 + VAT 12.07 =$ 72.43 USD?

Can anyone confirm charge rate and time to fully charge the 700 battery? I think I saw that the charger can go up to 4A? Curious how long to charge fully from flat. Thanks!
