Been a bit damp over here as well, not the long, hot, dry summer that the weatherman had predicted. Nothing but rain, rain and more rain. With it comes the humidity as well. At least it gives me an excuse NOT to mow the lawns. This was a despartion ride as don't normally venture out in the slop, twice today couldn't proceed on the route I usually take on my local loop. Oh well bring on autumn and hopefully some drier conditions.

Posted in the Newbie section but thought i'd share my first pic of my new bike in here also, i can see by reading through this thread i need to buck my ideas up . Anyway, from my first 'ride', a quick 10 minute bimble out to the portable airship hangar and back. *Heads off to find out how to make iphone pics look good*

Five YEARS! Shame on you! :giggle:

PS: I have never had a coil shock; do they not need servicing so often then?

Apparently Ohlins dyno test these to 600hrs, by some rough maths this has probably done 200hrs. Had started to sound a bit squelchy last summer so thought I should finally get it done. Looking forward to seeing if I can tell the difference, bet I can’t.

Ps. Buy a coil shock, they’re brilliant.

Couldn’t venture far from home but I wanted to show-off my photoshop skills. I captured these photos during the heat wave this summer but I thought I could add some white stuff and winter clothing by using Photoshop

I think my amateurish attempt at Photoshop was kinda ok. Too much white stuff me thinks. 😉

Someone in Coquitlam, BC is bored, can't figure out who that person might be! 🤔

Snow-fun in the sun today. We haven't had this much snow in a long time here. Quite a challenge to plough through without studded tyres. And this rideout would have been virtually impossible without a motor. I used turbo mode all the way. Apart from generating enough grip it was also a great balancing exercise.
I think I could get used to riding in snow. 🤩

Went for a quick test ride up the local to see where the grip is at. I think it's gone down the pub. And I didn't factor in the low sun working like a strobe light through the hedgerows, bringing a whole new meaning to riding blind.

It's an interesting thing when considering Las Vegas for mountain biking. When I first heard that Las Vegas had trails, I laughed and thought, no way the place is nothing but desert. Who would think Sin City has some excellent world class mountain biking trails? Yes Virginia, there really is a Santa Claus, Vegas has some bad ass trails.

Theoretically, you can ride Vegas anytime of the year....Vegas get's hotter than Hell in the summer months. As an example, Vegas daytime temps for July average around 105 degree Fahrenheit/40.5 Celsius. One must adapt and overcome...Vegas average night time temps for July is 81 degrees Fahrenheit/27 Celsius. Who doesn't love a late night moonlit ride. Fall, winter and spring months are perfect. As an added plus, Vegas doesn't get a lot of rain, so the trails are rarely rutted or blown out.

Here are some additional pictures of trails around the Vegas area:

The terrain looks identical to what I used to ride in Central Australia!
