2024 Strive:ON

I have Strive:ON CFR in size large and it is delivered in mid June. What size frame you have? How it rides and what is your weight?

Could you share shock specs from Fox database and/or serial number? 🤔

Intresting if Canyon has different valving in different shocks but that could be reason why some of riders have been hard times adjusting rear suapension and others don’t.
Mine was delivered a week ago. large CFR with 725wh battery. Attached is screenshot I took of specs

I’m 96kg + riding gear so have set it to 225psi gives me about 30% sag. See how I go. Thanks for your info, I’ll keep an eye on it.

I think that RF=Rebound Firm can handle +200psi pressures and bigger rebound forces better than RM=Rebound Medium.

Intresting if Canyon has find out that rebound shimming is off and dialled rebound tune from Medium to Firm during these months.

anyone took small battery? or have both? (625 and 750) ? I guess you can feel the difference in handling - 900g, especially that's very close to the head tube.

I'm running on 30% sag as the shock seems pretty beefy anyway. I've not reached its limit yet and seems to ride well.

Ok first ride done. Just to work and back. But… I thought this motor wasn’t mean to have much drag above the 25km/h cut off?? It felt like the brakes were being applied as I hit 25!! Was really bad. Unless I was riding downhill near impossible to pedal above 25-27km/h. Is that normal??? Thanks

it's normal feeling, unless you are fit, to ride >26km/h on a flat tarmac you need >250W, also depends on your tires (and pressure)

I agree, it’s hard work over 25kph. The prev Bosch was the same though.

Ok. With the standard maxxgrip qfront Assegai and DHR II DD rear. I can ride my bio enduro bike with enduro casing tyres pretty easily above 25 but guess not this puppy . I am not super fit but also not

ok I only tested a Bosch powered eMTB on trails before this and didn't notice it but logically I also didn't spend time riding it on flat roads above 25km/h

Yeah, its shite/hard work on a flat road. I occasionally notice the "brakes going on" feeling on the trail, but its rare really.

Another question. I saw a Deity post on IG and wondered if we would use round headset spacers on Strive would it look like this? More the first round spacer on top of the headset cover.

Today the discount on the Strive:On ended. I wonder if they did this because they want to discount it on Black Friday.

They also added a bunch of CFR LTD in the outlet (5 bikes each of M and L, and one XL), so that could also be a reson for them to end the discount on new bikes.

Modification from Fox Float X2 Performance to Performance Elite was as expensive as price of new Fox Float X2 Performance Elite shock so ended up ordering new shock. There is only a little difference in valving of new shock so need to find out how new shock will act. After test ride with new shock I will decide how to modificate shocks stock shimming or is it even needed with HSC and HSR adjustments.

2023 Series FLOAT X2 2pos-Adj

Serial number: 1023974-0005-T
Part number: 979-00-868
Description: 2023, FLOAT X2, P-Se, A, 2pos-Adj, YT, Capra 29, 230, 65, CL, RM, Rezi CM, Standard, Neutral Logo

P-Se=Performance Series Elite
A=Anodised black
2-pos Adj=2-position lever (open/firm)
230mm=distance C-C of eyelets
65mm=shock travel
CL=Compression Light
RM=Rebound Medium
Rezi CM=?(Rezi?, Compression Medium?)

It looks like the CL001 is the same stack as the CL but with the smallest diameter shim changed to be a larger OD, which should stiffen the stack, how much I have no idea, Less than a CM.
New Fox Float X2 Performance Elite is here.

I will try it as it is with little different valving compared to stock shock and let’s see is shimming needed.

Finally got myself a decent front light setup! I can finally get out on a night ride. Been wanting to do this for a while now. Interested to see if helmet or bike mounting is best. Currently setup below the bars but likely move it to the top as not sure if the clearance is great in the event of an off. Can’t wait to get out on a night ride!

I Love night riding. Typically have a bar mounted light of 1500 lumens and a helmet light of 1000 lumens. More on the bars could be nicer but this works very well. Have fun!!

Edit: Oh bar light has a wider light throw/spread to light the general trail. Helmet light is more spot to see where you look. Hence both. Check out Light and Motion lights for a light weight 1000 lumen helmet light without cables.

One thing I did wonder is if canyon could’ve put a usb port to allow lights and Garmin etc. to be charged or powered as we use them

Being a owner of a Strive :ON, for the last 1000km, I would certainly buy a Specialized if I could go back in time.

Sure the bike has excelent geo, good price/component ratio...
But the latch issue, which took 2 weeks to solve (it's a basic replacement - 4 screws, cleaning error, and that's it!), started to think what will happen in more complex problems.

Specialized on the other hand has/had an excelent warranty policy. And never let me down. Meaning small problems has this one with the latch, would be solved in the moment, or take less than a week.
A mate, had his frame chiping the paint, and they swapped the frame no question asked.

Just side note:
Turbo Levo should be updated soon, so try to negociate a good deal if you go with spec
Thanks Mario, this is great to hear. This was my feelings and I opted for a turbo levo expert. Super pleased with it!

If doesn't cost an arm or leg...

For now, Zipties are doing its job!
I can't imagine it'll be cheap as Cascade Components don't make cheap products. But if Canyon and Bosch take an age it'll be a worthwhile purchase to fix the achilles heal of an awesome bike

Modified a SicoMTB rear fender to fit on my Strive:ON. Fits well with lots of clearance. Should help a little to keep some of the slop and mud off my back.

Anyone has adjusted the wheel circuferance on their Bosch app?
Setting to the lowest number should increase speed limit about 5%... not much, but worth trying.
The speed limit always stays the same, with this setting you only calibrate the displayed speed according to your setting. So if your setting is inaccurate the displayed speed will be wrong also.

I think I need to put a mud guard out back too. Also wish I’d been quick enough to get a shit flap as yeah shit does get in there!
You can easily cut a shit flap with scissors from a rubber sheet. It took me under 10 minutes to do it and tape it to the bike

How does the motor know the speed?
From the magnet signal and the wheel circumference setting that is saved in the motor control unit firmware, you as a consumer don't have access to it and this setting is not the one you are describing to change.

If you go to the APP connected to the bike, you are allowed to change / adjust this parameter.

You won"t see any increment on the speed computer, because if you have one reading from the magnet/motor, it will show you the 25

Since new, the speed limit on the Strive, was higher then 25, normally 26ish (gps).
The wheel circumference for 27.5x2.4 is higher then 2150 as set originaly.

The app permits selecting 2042, giving 27ish km/h.
Not that much, I agree, but is 2 more without sweat or chip!
I'm sorry, but you still don't understand and I give up.

Has anyone found out any solid information as to the compatibility of the Kiox 300 on our Strive:ON? I was hoping that it's be a simple addition to the bike but it looks like it needs the addition of a different remote control too. Anyone know for sure what's needed?

I have a similar setup - I've got a 8000 lumens MagicShine on the bars - gets too hot for anywhere else anyway! - and 800 (from memory) as a helmet light. The shadows are reduced enough to make it worth it by the helmet light.

Hey everyone, a question, so I'we been following the thread and have seen all the DIY solutions to the battery latch problem, but it's baffling to me that 7 months after the release Canyon still doesn't have a real solution of the problem, or did I miss something?

It’s coming really soon if my information is correct😊 New parts on both sides of the battery👍

Nice. Hopefully they'll have it implemented on new bikes in stock soon, as well as another sale and I might order one.
