If you want to install a battery in your handbag and reduce the weight of the bike by another 1 kg, see the size of the empty space for the bag.

L.jpg M.jpg

So 410Wh: 1.4 kg (21700 cells) +1 kg (plastic case) = 2.4 kgs/5.92lbs

And

720Wh: 2.13 kg +1 kg = 3.13 kg/6.9 lbs
you made a typo, 2.4kgs is 5.29lbs, so the difference in weight is a bit greater

I'm about to pull the trigger on an order... chatting with them and they told me the 410wh is not an in house battery of their own. The 410wh they will sell is the Bafang BT F014 which weighs 2.6kg's. They also reiterated to me that their 720wh battery weighs 3.8kg. So there is 1.2kg/2.6lbs difference between the two.

Tbh, I'm on the fence on which to order. 2.6lb is substantial, but the extra range and power the bigger battery gives is also substantial. hmmmm.

oh, also I asked if they can supply an empty battery case for DIY. Answer is yes and it's $44USD

I see the 410wh battery is 43V and the 720wh battery is 36V. I wonder if the motors they ship have different controllers and/or firmware depending on the battery voltage?

You should buy a 36V or 43V motor.

Just bought a frame and 2x 720 battery! What’s shipping date for you guys?

Same here, ordered 1 L frame with the 410 battery and should be shipped by end of this month, hopefully

Go big or go home. 😂

Can we run full 29ers with this build with a 210x55 shock?

Just came across a good deal on 29ers

I have a 210/55 on the shelf and Linda told me yes, resulting in 159mm rear travel.

I've never built a bike before. What is the headset 52 mm / 66 mm piece indicate? Which headset piece can I purchase? Cause it seems they come with different sizing (Cane Creek 40 IS42/28.6 IS52/40 Short Cover Headset). Is there a headset you guys plan on purchasing?

Think of headsets as being unsets. They are really a top piece and a bottom piece. The fact that there are two different numbers indicates that there is a tapered headset. So the top of the steerer tube is smaller diameter than the bottom which is larger. So the top headset piece is 52mm and the bottom is 66mm. In your Cane Creek example the first number IS42 indicates an integrated headset. The bearings drop right into the frame. If the letters had been ZS, it is a zero stack. Which means it has a cup that is installed in the headtube that does not stick up out of the frame. Much. Hence zero stack. The stack height is the distance from the top of the headtube to the top of the headset. The last type is the old normal the EC for external cups. These have a non-zero stack height.
More than you ever wanted to know about headsets.
So don't go buy a headset until you find out if your frame requires a IS, ZS, or EC headset.
Cheers

It's an internally routed cable (IRC) headset for the upper...frame manufacturer specific apparently. Probably lower grade for CEF50 frame and will junk most of it. Unfortunately, no Chris King, Cane Creek, or Wolftooth makes them for mtbs except for a few smaller road headsets. I spoke to each a few weeks ago.

FSA has one. Ritchie as well. But
I also found Nukeproof's ICR for their Megawatt E-mtb...might be a better alternative. Or a Deda looks cool.

First, I was just going to stuff as much CaneCreek 110 or Wolftooth Premium internals that will work with the stock upper headset and see what works.

If not buy the NP or Deda.

Oops! Looks like Deda and Ritchie are the only 52 out of the whole bunch mentioned previous.

I just found another third party first components:

So does this actually come with a stock headset? I am hoping to not buy anything if I don't have to!

Should come with headset, seatpost collar, hanger, and thru-axle. But confirm with Linda that there's no extra charge if you want.

Love that you are always 2 steps ahead of me haha. Just asked linda and she confirmed thats all Included!
Confirming your confirmation👍...now I'm asking how much is spare hanger.

Update: $5.50 each USD for spare derailleur hangers.

Good eye! It does a little now!😲

That's certainly below a decent threshold 80% for my comfort. Still gonna roll the dice🎲 baby...this build is a complete unicorn if all pans out.

But yeah could be better odds for customer service. Linda is responsive...mostly...so far😬😎

Linda has been stellar as far as customer service goes.. I’d be shocked if they didn’t pull through.

She has told me running 29 in rear wheel with 210x55 shock will risk rubbing the seat stay. She sent me gif sent from her engineers. It seems really well thought out. Wish I could post the gif.

Glad you are willing to take one for the team :)
No probs!💪 It's like living my life-long dream of getting the party invite to the now-defunct PlayBoy Mansion and just showing up hoping to get lucky! This bad-ass rig could be like hooking up with a buxom Playmate Bunny of the month and her hot-ass gf for a 3-some....OR... unfortunately getting body-slamed at the door by security, and then later fined for trespassing because it was a fake invite by my ex-gf trying to punk me.🤯 😁

I'm only focused on the former scenario/fantasy! Unless it's a scam, it should be exciting.🍻
