In the New Forest, Hampshire UK, came across this fallen tree which we had to somehow get around. Took a pic of my wife Angie in front of it to give an idea of scale. Think these trees were originally planted to provide masts for ships in days of old.

Pipeline was the first North Shore trail we ever rode. It was rated as a Blue with Black features back then. It scared the crap out of us! It still has its rough sections.

TNT /Cabin Trail has been upgraded in the last few years since we last rode. It offers a warning to those who want to ride the several very difficult unsanctioned trails that come off of it. As we made our way down it today, we were surprised with how many challenging rock rolls had been added. On my first attempt at this one, I didn't quite make the S curve required to hit the transition, caught my foot on the large curvy root and went OTB.

Rolled 20 miles yesterday and met a new friend. A massive Western Diamondback that gave zero fucks about taking up most of the road.
Yeah, but what's his side of the story ...

I slithered 2km's today in the heat and then this feckin Unicorn - YES - A FECKIN UNICORN came along on a bike designed to kill snakes, it had THREE wheels ! THREE ! Who needs a bike with THREE wheels ! That's two for riding and one for kill'in - I thought I was a gonna for sure.

I'd only just dodged the massive hole in the road she made last time she tried to headbutt poor Sam the Scorpion when he was trying to cross the road.

Just want to add that there were broken branches laid across many trails, far more than off trail. A widespread strategy of walkers and their dogs (often members of the ramblers association) to try to discourage mountain bikers.

Finding a lot of people nowadays not keen on bikes , some moan if you don't ring a bell to warn your behind them. Some give you a glour if you do ring your bell . Not all walkers though. If I can give a wide berth without warning I do that.

Is it ever sunny there ..?
Moray Monster Trails..the wettest I've ever been on a ride ( 2017 ) Cairngorms trip..staying in in Ballater ..had a day trip over there
We had a sunny day in May 19 you must have just missed it . That's one of my regular rides along the coast from Buckie and up the side of the Spey to monster trails then home 27 miles it can be varied a fair bit.

Today on the Viking Way, next to a cattle drink on the River Witham (no cattle for ages, hence no mud and plenty of grass).

If you zoom in on the sign post that says Public Bridleway, you will see the yellow emblem that signifies the Viking Way.
As a kid I used to swim in the Witham north of you though………in an “end of the road” village called Barnby in the Willows on the border of Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire. In fact the boundary of the two counties know as the Shiredyke was only a couple of fields from our back door.
A small world

Not quite a bike leaning up against a tree pic but my Bro decided the Garbonzo DH Race Track was not difficult enough today so he took me down an unsanctioned spur which was fresh loam and as steep and lose as it gets. Of course he made it look easy and I went OTB and then did a couple of rolls until a tree broke my fall. POC body armor for the win!
