Well put a shift in today...

28.2 miles, 4000+ft, 2000+ kCals

Rivington, Winter Hill, Belmont, Witton Weavers Way, Darwen Moor, Jubilee Tower (a quick circuit up/down) and back again with the killer climb at the end back up Winter Hill on the rough, rutted track...

Top of Winter Hill with Darwen Moor in the distance above the saddle...

At Jubilee Tower looking back to Darwen Moor and Winter Hill (barely) visible in the distance just to right of saddle...

Darwen Moor with Winter Hill a bit clearer this time... Swing right here not straight ahead to pick up Witton Weavers Way again.

She can be a dirty girl this Orbea, so I gave her a bit of a clean when we got back, she scrubs up ok...

I'm knackered now! Used the extender to be on the safe side and used all of it (252wh) but main battery still had 50% (180wh) left when I checked after the clean. That equates to 15 miles on Trail or 30 miles on ECO. Impressive as 95% was off-road.

Had one of them rides today where you just go and find different routes to wherever they go.
Up Chunal, headed left over the Bridleways towards Hayfield and Edale, cut down onto the set valley trail, took a right and headed up towards Lantern pike and got lost so followed my gut down right over some fast fields and onto some country lanes which then led me to familiar surroundings. Ended the ride going over crown edge reversed to what i usually ride.

Great day/ride except for the invasion of giant mayflies that were intent on head on collision course with eyes, ears, mouth, nostrils and even taking cover under the damn helmet flapping around like a caged beasts.

Finally spring has arrived and most (~95%) of the snow and ice are gone. Still some in shady areas but this was the first real ride in summer-like conditions. My god how rough the trails feel with no smooth snow and ice to even them out.🥵

Last ride out for a while as i will be rebuilding my wheels and fitting new brakes ! probably take me a while as it will be my maiden wheel build and brake swap. Hopefully wont take too long lol.
So decided i would really try and get to a location ive attempted a few times but failed to reach the peak needed to continue.

Today i set out in the mindset to push ( literally lol ) myself up the climb to reach the B29 crash site and what a hike'a'bike it was.
Very energy sapping but the view rewards were worth it along with some short but fun rideable sections.

Route was from Mossylea up past the farm and instead of going right to Doctors Gate.... go left and keep going lol up up up and more up As usual the reverse of my ride today would be far easier but would have meant a very boring long ride up the snake pass and doing it the way i did meant i had the fun of coming down the snake pass at the end ( Even though it absolutely pissed it down with rain just i hit the road ).

Cracking day out all in all.
