Thanks that would be helpful. its s4

I'm set on a fox transfer if I'm honest

I know Will Greenfield on YT has a Pro with a 175 dropper and it goes in this much in the photo which is plenty low enough. The 200mm transfer is obviously quite a bit taller. I'll be honest the 175 xfusion manic is fine even at the depth I have it. So I may be ok with a 200mm

Here is the max insertion of one up 210 on my S5. 17mm away from flush.

Thanks that's great.

Inset lengths:

297mm on the 210 One Up
320mm on the 200 Transfer (inc. actuator)
I could live with an additional 23mm if the S4 I have matches up with that S5

I went with the transfer to match up with the fancy gold stuff on the stanchions. Ill post up some photos once fitted in case its of any use to anyone.

Ended up getting an X2 Factory as well

Carbon Comp or Expert? Need to decide if I will eventually want to upgrade the fork and wheel set if I go Carbon Comp.

What are your thoughts on the FOX FLOAT 36 RHYTHM 29 with GRIP damper? Am I going to want the 38?

Fox 36 or 38? It depends your weight and riding style.

Lighter rider and normal trail riding with small and medium jumps, 36 is OK and even less hand fatigue.

Just tested that you can fit a 29" x 2,3" Specialized Eliminator rear tyre on the new Alloy Levo. There's not much clearance, but it should work fine in dry conditions  Tested on a rim with 30 mm internal width.

Put the Kashima goodies on it.

200mm transfer dropper on an S4.

That's as far as it'll go but needed a slight twist at the end and it dropped another 20mm or so. Pretty sure it operates correctly. Will see how I get on with it when I next ride it.

Why does my X2 knock as it breaks away? My performance and factory X2s do this. Pretty sure there's no play in the mounting hardware. Makes a slight bump/knock as it breaks away wherever it is in the travel.

Edit to add. After a ride the X2 doesn't make any odd noises

Hi,

quick question for the ones who own the carbon version... in case of using a regular seat post, is it possible to go with a 34,9 version or could that harm the frame?

Thanks,
Thomas

With a shim it’ll be fine. That’s how the S-Works and Pro models come from the factory.

That does look amazing. I’m surprised that there’s any performance difference between the Performance Elites and the Factorys given that the internals are identical. If there is there is though, the proof is in the riding! Maybe Fox have made running manufacturing changes.
The knocking will be the compression shims popping open. They get a little “stuck” (for want of a better way of putting it) together in the damping oil and will make a noise as they lift.

What’s the part number for a new battery door cover? It came off today, a big old rock strike.

also, what shock pump are you all using? I use a rockshox digital pump but the valve on the X2 is in such a stupid position that it’s impossible to remove the shock pump and it not let air out of the shock.

Absolutely no difference in performance between the two.

Buy an 11-6 and be done with it. It’s expensive, but amazing. Jk, most of the air that escapes is from the pump, not the shock normally.

Best and easiest shock pump, unless you need to carry it with you.

air is coming out of the shock, sag increases after pump is removed. It’s very obvious it’s happening. I have to over inflate and then hope for the best.

Cavitation. Is is making excessive gurgling noises when you push on your seat? If so, send to fox. If you put it in climb mode, then slowly push down on the seat- if it’s consistent pressure you should be good. If it gaps, then pressure you have a bad bleed. I was told from a tuner that this is how you check.

Ok same thing the vorsprung luftkappe does. I really like the feel. It performs like my 2022 fox 40. The secus probably increases the negative chamber even more than the luftkappe. I opted for the luftkappe because it was only a $100 upgrade when i had the fork travel increased to 170mm. I am no longer using tokens but i did increase the pressure for mid and end stroke support. The small bump sensitivity is so good. So I guess I’ll go secus with my 180mm fox 38.
Similar but different. Luftkappe is a straight trade between positive and negative chambers. Secus adds a large negative chamber, but it has an internal piston that reduces the effective negative chamber as you go deeper into the travel.

Anyone found a smartphone-style screen protector for the Mastermind TCU? It would be nice to have some sacrificial protection just in case.

34.9 is fine. I am running that size in my carbon 22 Levo with no issues.

Thanks Stompweaver,

...I thought, that there is no room for a shim when going for a 34,9 seat post... this is exactly my question, because I doubt that I can use a shim... reason is that post I like to use is only available in 34,9 (for extra long, what I need)

Isn't the shim for like 30,9 droppers?

Thanks,
Tom
