I had no intention of going out today as Ive had a bit of a chest infection all week ..but something was calling to me ...so I did a shortish ride up at Kielder ..where it became apparent why I had to be there ..
At the start of Twist & Shout there was a portal to a parallel universe ..I cant say too much but you've got to give it a go lads ..be quick though it closes at 7.00pm..

Forgot to mention ..not my thing at all.. but the Dirty Reiver 200km gravel bike race was on today at Kielder ..respect to everyone who put their " bits " through that sort of punishment ..?

Because I'm bored and stuck at home after operation on sinuses here is one more photo. Must say that I am grateful for ebikes because I finally started to enjoy climbs and discovering corners of my country which were not in my interest before.

We're now into the hottest couple weeks of the year in SoCal. Generally, it wouldn't be wise to engage in strenuous activity alone in the wilderness... but I was eager to get out and shred. Besides, an eMTB makes it's own breeze.

Oh no, it`s a designated 4 x 4 play area .
We saw a cpl of millennials remove the tail pipe from their exhaust .
It`s fun to ride the tops of those ruts as skinnies . Until you slip down into one ...

It was good to be back out on the bike! Put it into LBS before going on hols and collected yesterday morning and then out to Darwen Hill for a loosener and shakedown after 7 days on the ship...

Late afternoon, just over 13 Miles and 2000ft of climbing and over 900kCals burnt. Put 2.5 lbs/1kg on whilst on the ship...

Only UK but weather was fantastic -we both got a bit of sunburn! ?

Glengoyne Distillery tour near Loch Lomond, Beatles Tour in Liverpool, Titanic museum and the "peace lines" in Belfast.

5 star service and food, I was dreading getting on the scales! ?

Saw whales and loads of dolphins/porpoises too.

How hot does it get?

During the summer, we'll get a couple days in the 100's and a couple weeks in the 90's. Humidity is generally low, and geography ranges from coastal hills, to the desert to the east, to the mountains to the north. So for dedicated athletes, there are options to ride most days of the year.

Not on my eMTB but, I pulled off my first ever Metric Century (100 km, 62.137 miles) yesterday.

I’m quite proud of this accomplishment.

Autumn is on the way now, most of the adult cows are down now and mostly it’s mostly heifers left on the mountain. After the désalpe is complete it’ll feel eerily quiet, fences down, alpages deserted and no cows.

Nice route 60km circuit to climb and traverse the area around the Vanil Noir, Vanil Carré & Dent de Ruth then down through Château-d’Oex
