Don’t forget to add, ”ride it first” to your list.
I’ve been riding a trek fuel ex 8 for the last several years. I chose it after riding several different models from several different shops. The trek just fit me the best and was quick and lively. Fast forward, I recently bought a Scott genius e-ride, based only on the fact that it had all the specs I could live with, and it was available.
It rides like a boat, compared to what I am used to. I am getting used to it, but it is nothing like my analog Trek.
One thing I’ve noticed and I’m not sure what it means (a more aggressive geometry?), but on my Trek I could ride hands free sitting up only when going fairly fast, too squirrelly at lower speeds. The Scott is very easy to ride with no hands.
