@Rob Rides EMTB will you actually be able to get that into the studio? You could look at getting a nice wooden worktop/workbench and a couple of units under each end?

My preference has always been to build a separate worktop that you can fix vices etc into, with tool chests underneath that can be pulled out and moved around.
Yes, my new studio is 5.3 metres by 6.2 metres so should be a lot more space for this compared to my current setup. I'll prob have a mix of benches and something like this. Makes it easier with it being on wheels to move around for different camera shots etc.

NC30 was the best bike I ever chucked down the road into the back of a Cavalier...

It then went on to do a 101mph lap at the TT in the hands of Sandra Barnett, a local racer who borrowed it exchange for new plastics, new paint, some super sticky Dunlop TT-only special tyres and a Micron Full Titanium race exhaust. The exhaust was actually on loan but Pete Barnett told Micron to come round and remove it themselves if they wanted it back it was such a ball ache.

If I'd taken it to the Performance Bikes Dyno Shootout that year it would have won the 400cc class with 64bhp at the back wheel thanks to TTS.

I used to love embarrassing riders on "faster" bikes down the lanes round here.

I really regret selling it. Twice.

Back on topic, I have this roller cab for bike stuff.

Good work ??

If you order let me know mate.

I think this might look good outside your man cave... :-)

They stock them at Homebase every now and then Ultimate Storage 72 Inch Tool Trolley 15 Drawer and I've eyed up one up a few times but haven't sorted the home workshop out so didn't pull the trigger.

Look decent enough though. A prof Mechanic Snap on fanatic will tell you otherwise though mate i'm sure...

Was after one also for the new bike cave (it's a big space) but been too busy and not down there with the lockdown.

Like @Stihldog our cave is a bit of a social hub in normal times...

Nice NC30, I had one for 3 years loved that bike

Is that VFR 400? I had an RVF400 as my first proper bike, wish I had never sold it!

Yes, same wish I never sold mine

All a man could ever need for a few bike tools.
I looked at that but went with this. Read my early post about delivery.

Not including the plastic xmas tree and the saw blade clock !! I now know what I'm doing with my next old saw blade ! :)
That Xmas tree is made from real plastic, not that fake-plastic-stuff you find in some ?. And the Sawblade clock is tacky but it’s right twice a day. ?

Anyone used SGS Engineering tool chests? Looking at fitting out a new studio workshop and they look nice (at least in the pics!) and the price seems reasonable compared to some other named brands.

I have one of these in the smaller 10 drawer size. Had it for a couple of years with absolutely no complaints. Really good bike work station.

I like that , good link Rob . I’ve been looking for similar recently and that’s the best looking stuff I’ve seen .
I can’t decide if the long cabinet , or two smaller ones is more practical when it comes to dragging it about . The normal width one I have already never gets moved as I intended . But my workshop is a joinery shop where I work for a living so it’s full of machines and benches plus the stuff Iam making .

Yeah. They're decent Rob.
Would wholeheartedly recommend to any big time youtuber ?

And don't be afraid to mount a vice on one.

Obviously not for heavy duty work. This is used daily. mainly for suspension and dropper servicing. With a larger vice mounted elsewhere for other work.
Looking forward to Rob's workshop teardowns. More than happy to help if you ever need workshop advice etc.

Having read your post and seen others recommending SGS, I have just bought one of those 8-drawer jobbies! :)

Hope you have a more sensible delivery than I did. The company are great with their comms if there are any issues. I’ve made some holders for mine. NOTE: The drawers on the top chest won’t open unless the lid is up.

Some very impressive storage/workshop pics..........BUT no sign of any mechanical activity, measured by the fact that the floor is filthy with mud, chain cleaner, oil...........and not one square inch of worktop surface is left with tools all over the place!! ? ? ? ?

Hadn't clocked it was an Andreani, proper job.

Anyway I dont know what you lot are showing off about, my workshop is organisational perfection. This is the MTB section, the road bikes area is too messy for me to take a picture of and risk a public shaming

It arrived in less than 24 hours!
It weighs 25.7kgs, 31.4kg in its packaging. It was seriously well packaged.
Which is a shame that it had been damaged in transit! The long outer edges of the cabinet base were dented, badly on one side. And where one of the front corners was fastened to the cabinet base, that was damaged too. I took pics and emailed them. Rather than pack up the whole thing I offered to let them replace just the cabinet base (it has to be removed anyway as part of the build up).

I got a reply within minutes apologising and offering me 10% off to keep it, or a swap out. A swap out is where they deliver another one and take the other one away. I replied and asked them who was meant to repack it, me or the courier? I had to cut the outer packaging to get into it, so it's all weaker now. And who is taking responsibility for any further damage in transit? I said that if it was me that they were expecting to repack it then I deserved a 10% discount for the trouble they had put me to. That was sent just after 5pm, so I'm not expecting a reply until tomorrow. Meanwhile the whole thing is sat in the utility room. It's only a bit of a nuisance.

Ah well, it was worth a try. They replied yesterday after 5pm. They had stuck to their offer of 10% off to keep it or a swap out. They asked me to repack as best I could and stick a return label on it. Then send pics showing the finished article complete with the return label. They responded almost immediately. They apologised again for the damage and the hassle caused to me. They confirmed that a new one will be delivered on Monday.

By the way the toolbox etc is made in the People's Republic of China. "Made in P.R.C." is what it says on the box. From what I have seen it looks a good piece of kit.

You have to be careful of that. There's a lot of people making chinese copies.

One of the largest producers at the moment due to a shortage of coffers is the Popes Region of Crimea .. sneaky, they use the same stamping.
