too many complaints about prices :) referring the leaks in the forum there should pop up some cheaper specs on the 29er... but also the team 29er definitely is too expensive, nice spec - but we are talking about a alloy frame with many inhouse ride alphy parts

I dare say that supply is short on Fox and/or Shimano components due to Covid perhaps, the leaked image of the AM29 in that pistachio green with Fox38 Performance and SLX is not part of the line-up at this stage, so who knows what they are holding back.
I still can't believe the prices though.

i fear that the popularity / growth of EMTB, combined with a shortage of stock means that we're a bit of a hostage to their pricing :(.

The way they'll look at it is... can i sell my production capacity at the higher prices... yes... well go for it, we can always reduce prices.

What we need is a brand that produces something market disruptive, that makes it's money on volume - if the parts are available.

Like a number of us, I've been waiting for today / tomorrow (EP8) to make my mind on specific brand / model, but i'd rather keep my money than have the piss taken.

I wonder if this approach will be such a wise decision if COVID starts to bite world economies harder.:cautious:

Those prices are the same, but in US dollars for the hard tails. Maybe they made a mistake and all of those bikes should be USD? Would take the price way down. Will be refreshing the Commencal USA website all day to see what happens. Lol

So, Commencal is still waiting on Shimano to allow them to start selling new products. But bikes are on their way to Colorado, and hopefully should get there by end of September.

I was hoping they would drop the weight some, but no, still going to be a back breaker at nearly 54 lbs. so 5lb difference between that and the Rail, hmmmm

Loving the Meta Power 29 Essential. Same price as last year's Essential model, even with the upgraded Fox 38 and Shimano motor/battery. The only spec I don't love is the e13 cranks and ring.

Pretty sure I'll be placing an order once Shimano gives them the okay.

Yeah pricing is higher but cant see why you would go with a Levo. Look at the pricing on a Levo! Even worse with way worse spec. A new Levo Comp is only $200 cheaper than the Team model, yet comes with the basic Fox 36 Rhythm with the grip damper. The Team comes with the Zeb Ultimate and the Ultimate Delux, no comparison at all. Commencal crushes the Levo in spec, especially in brakes as well, night and day. Not to mention the Levo weights just 57lbs, heavier than the Commencal. Does it suck that the prices went up, hell yeah, but still better specked then anything else out there!

People were saying they’d rather have a Levo when it was at 7500 GBP = $10k USD.

They've gone down in tire width, to 2.4 inch?? I wonder why,? I like my 2.6's and thinking about going up to 2.8. Sorry for the english units :)

i. because maxxis/schwalbe at least don't make any enduro or downhill casing versions of their 29+ tires, fattest are 29x2.5. it'd be crazy heavy. commencal doesn't mess around putting flimsy tires on their enduro bikes.

ii. because no UCI enduro or downhill race ever has been won on plus tires? I didn't research this. to avoid sidewall damage they'd have to run so much pressure that it'd negate the benefits of low pressure, while the wider sidewall would make it more vulnerable to cuts.

iiii. because Amaury would cry

I prefer Maxxis 2.5 or less. But at the end of the day, tires wear quickly and you can replace it with whatever size you want.

US bikes not available even for pre-order until end of Sept. All about Shimano releasing the motors at this point

Just throwing it out there. What’s people’s opinions on the alloy Trek rail 9 with GX and Zeb vs the new Meta essential? The Rails all get good reviews, apart from noisy Bosch motor, I can’t get a ride on any of these bikes before purchasing unfortunately. These are my two to choose from, leaning towards the Meta due to spec and to be honest the looks.

I'm in the same boat. Rail 9.8 vs Meta Team. Rail is carbon fiber and $1.5k more, meta better spec, Rail 5 lbs lighter.....also leaning Meta due to spec and looks

melmark woody12 no brainer for me - Commencal is better speced, does not have proprietary shock mount and costs less money. Especially if you going for blind purchase anyway.
