Murphy’s Law: When I finally come across a stick, there won’t be a vista worthy to take a pic of!

Pick up the stick and take it with you, then go and find a vista.

Alternatively, take a packet of tree seeds with you, then plant them when you find a vista. All you have to do then is go back to the same place in 20 years (don't forget to take a saw with you), and cut yourself a stick.

2nd forced ride on acoustic bike this am since my hanger snapped on my Speedfox AMP and the “replacement” hanger no fitty. Boooo wheels manufacturing.....

I guess my fitness hasn’t suffered one bit after 6+ months riding ebike only. Made it up a very very steep climb this am that I’ve NEVER made it up before except for on my ebike.?

Amazing what you find when you keep your eyes open. Unplugged. No strava, no gps, no apps, no maps. Ever. Lovely explore ride from the house this am. Almost 10 years here and still finding new stuff to ride without having to ever put the bike in the truck.

Is it just an optical illusion or is your rear wheel offset to the right side of the bike?

If you’re still on lockdown and LBS still closed you could centre that yourself with a spoke wrench (if you have one) without taking the wheel off the bike. Just tighten all the left side spoke nipples by a quarter-turn provided the right spikes aren’t super tight. Start and end at the valve so you don’t double up.

Might need to repeat if it still needs more wheel offset correction, but first check the spoke tension overall. If already tight, loosen all the right side spoke nipples by a quarter turn instead.

If unsure, best to leave it until your LBS opens up for business again.

Looks like an optical illusion. On the left side you see the through to bike coloured chainstay but on the right you see through to a dark gray or black coloured chainstay protector...

The point of me showing this pics is because honestly I’m kind of tired of seeing videos of eBikes on downhills where you don’t see anything different than On a regular bike. For me the magic of eBike is the things that you can do that in many cases are, I would say, basically impossible on regular ones. I’m aware that every body’s level of enjoyment is different, for me, at 56 years old, biking since 1987, racing DH, a bit of DH and more, the excitement of trying technical sections is priceless!!!!!!

Your aggressive front stance/pressure on the front forks actually taught me something useful the next next steep/gnarly climb.

What is also amazing, is I can do trails with my wife that would probably result in a divorce on the Analog bikes.

I am often amazed after climbing a steep trail that I look behind me and my wife is right there, in Turbo, with a grin on her face!!!!!!!

A good friend is an analog MTB die hard but seeing as his wife (a non biker really) struggles to keep up when we go for group rides, so they decided to get her a Giant Fathom e hardtail.

The funniest thing you can ever witness is to hear her genuinely giggling out loud as she passes him going up a steep hill. We’re all like little kids again! ?

Sold the Carbon hardtail Sunday and waiting for derailleur hangers (Shoulda had a spare to begin with ?‍)to arrive soon from BMC so am borrowing a fatbike in the meantime. Damn I forgot how capable 27.5 x 4.50 tires are at 8psi. Go ANYWHERE....

The beauty of riding fatbikes isn’t about riding groomed prepared snow or purpose built singletrack, it’s about getting off trail, as in just riding thru the woods with no plan or direction in mind. Just following the path of least resistance and see where you pop out or end up. Of course it’s a nice bonus when you come across a gorgeous ribbon of trail that you never knew existed. A couple from this am.....oh and uh yeah still waiting for my replacement hanger for my BMC.

Never thought I would ever have an ebike. I was riding my privateer hard and it seems the e-sommet matches it on the descents. Possibly better!
