Wow you are patent, I lost my shit at my lbs when they said it would take 1 to 2 weeks to replace a snapped bolt after two weeks of owning the bike. They gave me a loaner so I calmed down.

I was cleaning and lubing my chain earlier using the allen key backpedalling method but found that the bike kept turning itself on and flashing red and blue error lights. Is this normal or something to be concerned about?
 
Mine will turn on when back pedalling but does flash red and blue ! Just turn off/on and if normal forget about it !
 
3 or 4 rides in on the Magura MDR-P (F 220 / R 200) rotors and SRAM Code R (with new Trickstuff pads) brake combination and I have to say I’m not loving it.

Still get the warbling I had before and not really noticed any improvement in their stopping power.

What also bothers me is a metallic rattling coming from the rotors. Anybody else with the Magura’s noticed this? Everything is tight and lightly tapping the rotor replicates it to some degree, so I think it’s just an aspect of the design. Oh well, at least they look nice...

I think the next upgrade is a set of Saints or MT7s.
 
Does anybody know of a 15mm conversion kit for the stock 20x110 front hub on the 2020 Expert? I’d like to swap the wheels with my other bike.

Hi all!

Hope everyone is safe and healthy.

This is an update on my setup in case anyone is interested how the project is coming along.

I recently purchased a 2020 Fox Float X2 for my Kenevo. I've been riding it for a couple of days and I have been impressed. A few notes:

1. The shock was custom tuned by J-Tech suspension. What an awesome service... The instructions were to just set the sag and go ride. Volume spacers adjustment was spot on, rebound was spot on, compression was just two clicks firmer than what I needed. Excellent!

2. The Marzocchi Bomber CR coil shock removed and I think there was a slight oil leakage from the shaft seal. During the last weeks, I have been adding rebound and compression to keep constant performance, however the shock was simply not working properly. The Marzocchi shock and spring are for sale.

Next upgrade will be the fork. I have found a DVO Onyx D1, brand new, for the same money it would cost me to upgrade the Marzocchi Z1 damper to GRIP2 at Fox along with a full service. I am afraid the DVO will be less stiff than the Z1. I have also talked to J-Tech regarding availability of the 2021 GRIP2 damper and if it will be backwards compatible to the 36 chassis. We will have to wait for a few weeks.

The bike is awesome, the more I ride it, the more I like it.

Onyx is definitely stiffer than a 36 and a Lyrik and is a better fork imo. I'm guessing the Marzocchi chassis stiffness will be similar to the 36. I tried the GRIP2 damper in a 36 and preferred the FIT4 damper that had been vorsprung tuned.
 
My Kenevo Expert with Boxxer has started doing some creaking noise from the handlebar area, it's a bit hard locating where the noise is coming, but while riding some rougher terrain there's quite prominent creaking happening. Tried losing and tightening again all the bolts on the stem and fork, but the creaking noise won't disappear. Any ideas what to try next?

After removing my headset bearings, regreasing and retorquing I resolved my main noise but I also had the cables rattling in the top tube, once I gently pulled then taught it solved my other lesser noise.

There are reports online and on this forum of the Marzocchi Bombers having a damper issue/creak but the search function isn't very good so I can't find it now.

My brother had the exact same issue. Got the fork replaced and it was still there. Ended up replacing the crown race to a cane creek crown race and it solved his issue. The factory one has a split in it and is a poor design imho.
I’d check the above mentioned things first though as that could also be the issue.

Can you tell the exact part number for the cane creek ? Does also resolve the "gap" ?
 
third Marzocchi shock exploded on me last sunday. That's all in 3 months of ownership!

and the cherry on top... motor belt broke yesterday..
 
Lazy question but does anybody happen to know the max insertion length of the seatpost on the S4 Kenevo? Just looking at the 180 and 210mm OneUp droppers and wondering if I could get a flush fitment.

240mm before it hits the bolts that protrude through the frame by about 3mm. There another 20mm below that before it hits the plastic cable guide.
You could probably re route the cables around the dropper if you wanted to. Would probably be a motor out job though.

In case could help , I'm running a reverb AXS 170mm completely inserted 245 mm + 20 mm of valve ;-)
 
Long time lurker, first time poster. Really valuable information on here! I have a dilemma though. I have an option at a 2020 Kenevo (next available) or a 2020 Levo Comp 700wh for about 17% off at my stateside lbs. I know the Kenevo would be perfect but that’s a decent discount on a great bike. Which would you choose? I’m slightly more gravity focused but would likely be happy with either. Oh, and if I decide to wait, they’ll provide a 2018 Levo loaner in the intervening months.
 
I’d say the Kenevo bit I am biased. Having said that the Levo is an extremely capable beast. With the right mods it could be as good as a Kenevo in the right hands.

If it's the Kenevo with the Boxxer forks then that wins. Second choice would be the Levo with big battery.
 
Thanks guys! Yeah, if it were like 25-30% off then I think the Levo 700wh would be difficult to pass up but add some aftermarket mods to reach a bit of Kenevo territory and the savings quickly evaporates.
