Levo SL Gen 1 Official Levo SL Thread

2 cars in the car park when I arrived... a white van and a silver Kia. When I left at about 10.30, the car park was totally full.
Actually quite a nice day - wind wasn’t too bad!

Yup that was us (y). Couldn't believe how rammed the car park was either

2.3” tyres measure up at just over 2.4” at 25 psi.

If I remember correctly that’s wider than my 2.5” DHF

Changing it to the 29 x 2.6 upfront in the same tyre only adds 60g.
I’ve always found Specialized tyres to be good, so I’d probably try that before swapping to something else.
 
Hopefully will get a test ride on one on Thursday for the day, then all going well will be putting in my order, trying to decide if to get the alloy or the carbon comps currently.

Unsure. If so, it shouldn't be any more difference on the carbon levo sl vs ALU SL.

Trying to figuere out if the cost of carbon frame is worth the big price difference.
For 700gr I think maybe not....
 
1. Anyone know the difference in weigth on Comp ALU SL comparred to comp carbon sl??
Interessed in the difference on frameweigth alu vs carbon.
Size Large if it matters.

2. I've a comp carbon Levo today. Consider an Levo SL as additional bike instead of my Santa Cruz Hightower. Would the Comp alu sl (with upgrades of course....) just be a stupid change without enough savings on weigth??
Having difficult to see if the alu sl would be a good combination with my current Levo.

Any input @Rob Hancill ? :)

I also linked the difference between Alu and carbon for the Levo FSR further updates in this thread which will also be a strong indicator.

What I understood it was:
Alloy Comp SL - 19.4kg
Carbon Comp SL- 18.5kg
Expert Comp - 18kg

I think that is official weights tho, I'm guessing including tubes.

Of course the Spesh tire measures big, but the tread pattern itsef is small. Michelin tires are pretty straight in their profile, that means stability in fast corners and lots of traction, i like that. The "Wild Enduro" in 2.4" is a monster and looks fantastic. (Front 61,7mm, Rear 59,2mm)
I think another good choice would be the Kenda Hellkat.

what altitude gain Rob?

I think of range more about altitude than distance, and tend to get 1000m on my 500Wh Levo going full gas.
It’s quite flat on my loop, just 608ft of vertical gain.

broadly you got 182 metres from 105Wh on your SL.

I get about 1000 metres from 500Wh so I'd expect your route to cost me about 90Wh on the Levo. But your route is much flatter than mine would be straight out of Dorking and up Leith Hill or Ranmore, that's material as it still costs you energy and it's not an exact like for like. We weigh about the same.

I'm not sure what this shows - still processing it!

It’s great being able to finally ride it in public, in broad daylight. I had plans to see how light I could make it, but it I will end up flipping it in 9 months so why bother. I might change the fork to a Lyrik ultimate I have sitting in my workshop and maybe I’ll do a Cane Creek IL coil.
I should probably loose some weight myself

Really good info to digest.
Out of interest, what settings were you on for Eco, Trail and Turbo?
Also, is it possible to download the CSV file and look at column J which should be called ‘Battery Current (A)’ as this will tell you what Amps the motor was drawing for each second during your ride ;)
