Anybody know of any color changes, specs on the 2019 Turbo Levo? I live the in the US, and we can essentially only get a black model. The red one for the Expert, you can only get in Europe. Was hoping that the new colors would be different than black (bad color for a dirt bike!).

Is the gearing / rear cassette different from the the Levo? Those first 2 gears look huge?
I’d say XT 46t

It’s marketing trying to get more people onto a Spesh eMtb. Merida is stealing customers with a lower price bike with higher spec.
But we all know Spesh and the Brose win, just got to convince the masses

Sorry, but I have to disagree ?
We have both Merida Eone Sixty 800 and Turbo Levo FSR.
In my opinion It is true what all Emtb tests say...Levo is a good bike but cant really compete with Merida. Both bikes are joy to ride but on any given day I’d choose Merida.

Yeah at the moment the Merida is better spec and better ride, to a point than the Levo.
However I was more referring to the new Kenevo.
Spesh dropping the build of the new Kenevo, will bring the pricing more in line with the Merida. But imo, i’d Rather a lower spec ( than current) Kenevo over a lower travel Merida for around the same price.

But then you have the Vitus at 1k less than a Kenevo Comp with a far higher spec. They are all good bikes, but the pricing of E-Bikes, as with normal bikes, is no indicator/comparison of what you actually get for your money. The only reason you would buy a Kenevo Comp over a Vitus E-Somet if because of the brand and looks. I like Kenevos, but with any Spesh you are paying for the name. (I have had numerous Specialised and have nothing against them).

I think they have made a big mistake if they have the old motor and a smaller battery, as the Comp would be a great starting point for upgrades, but they have hamstrung it out the factory if they have done this.

actually really like them look of this but the new motor is untested and the lower battery spec is really putting me off

It's not "new" and "untested", it's old and superceded.

It's the motor from the 2017 (and possibly older) bikes.
ah i thought it was the old motor revised 1.2 (e), bit of a cheap ass move by specialized if its nodifferent

Why "cheap ass"? Specialized has brought out a more affordable model, ~£1,250 MSRP cheaper than original Kenevo model, they're hardly going to put all same parts on it. Choices and price difference for all.

If you have lived through 5 1.2 motors over two bike it might look like a big step backwards for the same money you can get a 2018/19 levo comp with a 504w battery and. The superb brose 1.3 motor

from what i can gather the 1.2 motor had numerous issues such as over heating and a fair few warranty claims, putting out a model with an postdated motor just seems bad practice to me

I agree doesn’t make much sense selling a bike with known problems.
Would have made much more sense to sell with the same motor and battery like the levo range does but change the components around ie lower spec suspension gears brakes etc

I wonder the percentage of how many total bikes sold with 1.2 motor had a problem?
In all engineering there is a failure percentage, a faulty design however is seldom continued as it would never serve the manufacturer.
I feel for anyone with issues, from 1.2 motor or anything else, but if the motor was a faulty design I truly cannot see Specialized using it, let alone in a new model.
I think a little business experience is required here.

The simple fact is that the new model is cheaper by a good margin.
The original model has merely had a colour change. If want all the bells and whistles buy the original model as it can be had for Very close to the new models MSRP, simples ?

I'd happily pay the extra for the bigger battery and better motor, especially given the discounts that are available from the likes of Freeborn Bikes. That the Expert model will also have better componentry is a bonus.

let's hope so, agree its good to to give the option but i was fully under the impression the new model motor was brought out to address the issues with the previous. that may not be the case but certainly somthing people should consider if they are choosing between the two

Strange the 2019 has the 2017/8 RCT3 lyrik and not the new RC2 2019....

Came in through the door when i was just at Freeborn
