Avinox-powered enduro/DH eMTB

The Velduro Rogue R 2025 is the New Zealand brand's flagship carbon high-pivot enduro eMTB, built around the DJI Avinox M1 motor (105 Nm torque, 250 W rated, 1000 W manufacturer-claimed peak, 2.52 kg) and an 800 Wh Avinox FP800 battery. Travel is 170 mm front and 165 mm rear (up to 172 mm with 27.5 inch rear flip-chip) on a carbon mid/high-pivot chassis with idler pulley and ASTM Category 5 DH certification. Two trims — R at £8,999 (23.6 kg) and X. Four sizes from S to XL, reach 440-515 mm, head angle 63.5 degrees flat, chainstays 440 mm flat, wheelbase 1229-1311 mm. The community read in one line: a proper sleeper of an enduro platform with class-leading rear suspension and DJI motor power, from a small NZ brand with strong UK and Australian distribution.
Drive system and range. The DJI Avinox M1 is the first-generation Avinox motor — 105 Nm torque, 1000 W peak, 2.52 kg motor weight. DJI's full smartphone tuning ecosystem, GPS, 4G connectivity and anti-theft via touchscreen display. The 800 Wh battery is removable. Real-world range will sit in the 50 to 75 km territory in mixed terrain on Trail/Boost mode. The M1 sits a generation behind the M2S (150 Nm peak) used on the Commencal and Teewing platforms, but the M1 remains an exceptionally capable motor.
Geometry and handling. Properly aggressive enduro. 63.5 degree head angle flat across all four sizes — slack territory. Reach steps cleanly 440 mm (S), 466 mm (M), 485 mm (L), 515 mm (XL). Chainstays held at 440 mm flat — short by 2025 enduro standards, giving the bike a playful feel rather than monster-truck stability. Wheelbase 1229 to 1311 mm. The mid/high-pivot suspension layout with 16T idler and oversize bearings is the chassis standout — multiple owners report this is one of the most supple rear ends in production.
Build and value. Two trims. The R at £8,999 (23.6 kg) lands you FOX 38 Factory with GRIP X2 Kashima fork, FOX FLOAT X2 Factory shock custom-tuned for the Rogue, SRAM Maven Silver 4-piston brakes, and SRAM GX Eagle AXS T-Type Transmission. The X is the higher trim. @Mikects documents the Velduro Rogue R at NZ$17,000 in New Zealand — strong value vs Giant Reign E+0 with DJI motor and 800 Wh battery.
Community-verified strengths.
- @Durrti: "Velduro Rogue rear suspension is more supple than Crestline DJI rear suspension." Multiple owners report the rear end is the standout of the entire 2025 DJI Avinox carbon enduro segment.
- @rabitec: "Velduro Rogue rear suspension feels incredibly sensitive compared to Yeti SB6 and Orbea Rise." High-pivot kinematics with idler deliver.
- @Durrti: "Velduro Rogue rear suspension is significantly better than Fox Zeb fork performance, making tuned Zeb feel like hot garbage." Strong endorsement from existing owners.
- @Plummet after visiting Velduro HQ in NZ: "The bike looks better in the flesh than it does in photos. That's one solid build." Manufacturing quality is real.
Caveats and known gripes.
- DJI Avinox M1 is now a generation behind the M2S (150 Nm peak) used on rivals like the Commencal Meta Power SX DJI and Teewing Flux. Riders chasing maximum torque will look elsewhere.
- Small NZ brand with growing but still limited international distribution. UK and Australia distribution is established, US is more limited.
- @GeordieDownSouth notes a 56 lb (25.4 kg) build with coil shock, DD tyres, inserts and heavy parts — realistic enduro builds push the bike from 23.6 kg claimed up to 25 kg+.
- Fixed 440 mm chainstays across all four sizes is short but unmodified — no size-tuning.
- @iJak recommends 220/223 mm front rotor and 200 mm rear rotor for 90 kg riders riding hard — stock rotor sizing is on the conservative side for heavier/faster riders.
Verdict. The Velduro Rogue R 2025 is a genuinely interesting sleeper carbon high-pivot enduro from a small but well-supported NZ brand. It suits intermediate-to-advanced enduro riders who prioritise rear suspension feel and progressive kinematics over headline motor torque, who appreciate the playful 440 mm chainstays, and who have local UK or Australian Velduro dealer support. Look elsewhere if you want maximum motor power (M2S vs M1), size-tuned chainstays, or the broadest international warranty network. Production status: current, two trims, four sizes.
