I really wish Bosch would allow the Apple Watch to be used as a key for unlocking the bike in the flow app. It would make alot of sense, no retrieving your phone from your back pack, just a quick slip on you watch, and away you go. I know you can set the lock up to Auto Unlock when your phone is close to the bike, but that’s not good for security in my eyes, as it’s a proximity function, which means you bike could be unlocked, when you’re not actually next to it.

Agreed, excellent idea Alfmeister 👍🏻

And I think in todays criminal infested world, it should only unlock when within 1 metre proximity. And while we're at it, a hi-jacking feature would be nice to stop the balaclava clad, stabby type crims, who terrorise society and cyclist with threats of violence and physical harm with a knife or hammer.

A sram axs type auto spike through the seat 😉🤔😎. Doesn't need to be sharp, just protrude up through the seat so the little scrotes can't sit Down for a long time after 😉😵‍💫.

Not an owner of an Apple watch so no idea how it functions but is it not also a proximity device?

I presume he meant that you could hold the watch against a particular bit of the bike (controller/remote?) like an RFID card to unlock it/lock it?

Mind you, that could be done on a phone as well, Bosch would have to put a reader somewhere on the system for that to work though, otherwise it is indeed a proximity device the same as already implemented on phones.

I don’t have an Apple Watch either, but as it works on a phone already then it should be easy to implement via the watch. I’m not an App developer though so there might be a good technical reason.

The flow app allows either proximity or swipe within in app, I prefer the swipe in app, as I think it make the bike more secure. The proximity solution is a worry when you are maybe having a break, maybe sat away from the bike, but close enough that the alarm lock has been deactivated.

I think the only way is to retro-engineer the communcations battery/motor/controller and do it by ourselves. Everything encoded.

My concern is you're not sat right next to the bike, but close enough to disable the bosch lock/alarm unknowingly. The solution is to stand/sit far enough away it won't be close enough to disable the lock/alarm, but then you're too far away to react quickly if a scrote decides to nick it.

first world problem, but unfortunately there are enough undesirables out there looking to get their next fix or hit their weekly targets 😉.

I don't really want to have my watch taken at knife point too.. so errr no thanks

If they knew you were wearing kelvin kliens they'd take those at knife point too. Quite frankly todays thief will nick just about anything thats worth something on the black market.
