nice , thinking of getting one of these , was the Kiox an easy fit , any dealer work required , this model is good price at the moment with discount , only negative for me is it has Sram Codes , I hate those brakes with a vengeance , have/ had them on my E!60
I’d be interested in how you get on with this as I nearly bought one myself, but then a too good to miss deal came up on a Canyon with the SX motor. I did have a niggling concern that the full power CX motor might rinse the 400wh battery on the RS. Judicious use of the app and managing power outputs were recommended to me. Did this come with a RE?
Yes - the Evo came with the RE included, so 650Wh total.
Most of my riding over the years has been on road, with maybe just 20% of my km/hours on MTB. I was interested by the idea of an “SL” bike as I’m not that fat and quite like pedalling at my natural ~85rpm cadence... My original plan was to buy a Whyte ELyte 150, with the SX drive unit. But then I looked at the CX-equipped Evo model which is ~21kg compared to ~19kg for the 150. Of the ~2kg difference, about 50% is the CX vs SX drive unit with the next largest contribution being the heavier/stronger wheels on the Evo and the fact that Whyte quotes tubeless for the 150 and tubed for the Evo. The supplied tubes weighed ~450g… So real world there’s maybe 1.5kg between the two. That’s not a lot!
My thinking is that I can create an “SX mode” in the Flow app, using 600W and 55Nm etc, whilst also enjoying the full 750W / 100Nm available in another mode.
Two bikes for the price of one. Buy the CX model and get the SX for free….
Sounds like you’ve given it some thought so I’m sure you’ll be a perfect fit for the bike. I very nearly pulled the trigger on an elyte 150 works, was reduced from £10k to £6500. Still a load of money, but then the Canyon sale popped up and the Neuron:On Fly was down to £3,800 and has a killer spec for the money. Being from Yorkshire, it was too good a price to miss it.
I managed to pick one of these up at £5250, I don't like the colour but it doesn't bother me when I am being encouraged to ride it like I stole it. Such a fun bike. I wondered if anybody has mulleted theirs?
