I decided to purchase a canyon grand canyon on and its says that the item i ordered canot be shipped to greece and nobody on the live chat whould tell me the reason. Is it something about brexit? (but as far as i know canyon bikes are made in germany)WHATS WRONG ????

I doubt it's to do with being based in Greece; more than a few Continental suppliers have temporarily stopped shipping to the UK and Brexit is being blamed. But that won't be why Greece is not being supplied. Maybe (like many manufacturers) they are just short of bikes and keeping them for the German market?

Bike 24 have stopped shipping to the UK so I emailed to ask why and they replied blaming brexit and Covid. They said they would look into ways to resume UK sales. This is a shame as they were cheaper than anyone else and more importantly, have stuff in stock. They also delivered quicker than the likes of Chain reaction.
I suspect most of this has to do with the carriers like DHL ......possibly due the extra difficulties they have with Covid restrictions and the subsequent congestion in the system. Brexit is no excuse assuming the company did not completely fail to prepare for the change of process. It is difficult to believe any business would be that negligent.

I don't think it's negligence, they just don't need the added hassle when they can sell goods to loads of other countries with no additional complications.
Well buddy I know ur pain. I bought a 2019 Cannondale monterra on e bay, from the states for a hell of a deal. I actually bought it 4x. First, couldn’t ship to Germany due to size of box, second, I changed my address in e bay to my physical address but they wouldn’t shot because the PayPal didn’t line up. Third, I got a PayPal in Germany address, but import fees were dumb and last I had it shipped my my father n law house who took the wheels out of the box and took part of it apart and shipped it. At the end of the day I still saved about 500 and it took quite a bit of extra time. Yes I would do it again.
A few questions, where are you buying the bike from? Talk to the Post office and see if it’s the size of the box, the battery or what the issue is. Also, check into import fees. I think problem is battery in e-bike. I try to order battery in bike-discount.de to be shipped in Slovenia and can not be ordered.

It's all about batteries. I also tried to bring a canyon e-mtb to Greece and they told me that they can not send it to Greece without telling me the reason and I find out that is all about the batteries that are above 100Watt because it belongs to Class 9 dangerous products. For every country, they must send the MSDS of every battery to the transport companies (DHL Freight for Canyon) and ask for approval. It seems that they didn't do this for all the EU countries (neither bike-discount nor Bike24 ship batteries to Greece with DHL freight, not only Canyon). For that reason, I ask them to send the MSDS to TNT so as to arrange to pick up the bike from their facilities, and after several e-mails that answer was "Unfortunately, it is not possible to pick the bike up at our facility. The only option is that you choose an alternative shipping adress and we deliver the bike to that adress. You can organize the pick up from there."

After that, I stopped trying, and from an LBS I will buy a Giant Trance x e+ 2 which is ready to deliver. You can find a giant everywhere.
The difference may be the transport method used by the carrier for specific countries. The regulations for transport of Lithium batteries by road are the easiest to comply with, but if it involves shipping by sea different/additional conditions apply; and shipping by air freight has the most stringent requirements.
You could use a freight forwarder if your heart is set on the Canyon e.g. Freight Forwarding | International Shipping Your Parcels . Note that I haven't used them myself, so not a recommendation ... but I nearly did when I was trying to get a bike shipped from Germany to the UK last year (I eventually found a different shop that would ship it, so didn't need them).

I really dont think that giant bikes live up to canyon standards not only they dont look as nice but also i dont really like the way they feel while i ride them, on the other hand i like the convinience they offer here in greece

German bike manufacturer Canyon has resumed bike sales to parts of the UK, after working to smooth out the process of importing bikes for customers in England, Scotland and Wales. Canyon appears to be covering some of the additional import costs that came into effect at the end of the Brexit...

I asked them and the answer was that they don't ship e-bikes. It is a big issue in Europe right now battery shipping because of the ADR laws
As far as I know, CANYON is the only direct-to-consumer brand which doesn't ship ebikes to Greece!
I had a THOK delivered to Greece from Italy without any issues!
You could also try some other direct-to-consumer brands such as RADON, which is shipped through bikediscount.de to Greece without any issues.
It's a shame that CANYON don't ship to Greece and I would like to find out why!!

Possibly more to it than that. I can't image that bike-discount.de would use anything else other than road transport to deliver batteries to Spain, but we are also on the: "Due to legal restrictions this product can't be send to your chosen delivery country" list. (And I do wish they would correct their grammar).
Given their incredibly low prices, I can only guess that it's the extra level of administration and documentation involved with the export of dangerous goods from Germany that means that it's just not worth their while. (If you set the delivery destination to France, the order is still refused)
Peculiarly enough, bike-discount.de and others, do ship ebikes with installed batteries to EU countries without any issues, but they don't ship batteries on their own!!

the regulations for shipping batteries is different if there are contained within a device ( at least for road transport) . Where they are not, they have to be transported in a very specific design of steel box which is drop tested etc and can take a maximum of 4 batteries ...but the same ( quite big) box for just one. If the shipping agent does not have this equipment..and they have to be certified users....that may explain some of the issues here.
Looking at the ADR rules an approved cardboard box (and many others) is suitable as long as it meets the packing category 2 standards. They are more expensive than regular boxes but not by much. Other than that its a few labels and some documentation.
