So my range on a 2019 gen2 was saying 34 smiles on a full charge, but now suddenly dropped to 24 ! What are your visual range miles ? Not what can you get ?

This varies on my gen4 in eco I've seen 160km to 60km ofcourse heavily dependent on the circumstances (how much torque I am requesting i.e. flat/climb, road/dirt etc)

When you say 'now suddenly' what do you mean?

After a full charge it will vary in Eco from around 60-110 miles depending on how the previous ride was. Gen 4 625 battery

Mines a gen 2 500wh. It's always said 34miles. And now we've dropped to 24. Went to the shop today for updates and diagnostics and she's all fine and dandy apparently but still showing 24 miles.

Not a Cube, but a Focus with a Shimano motor and a Focus 378whr battery. On day 1, it read 44miles in Eco. Since then the fully charged, start of the ride reading slowly declined to 41m over about six months or so and stayed there. The pandemic came and I was riding more tarmac and towpaths and with pumped up Maxxis Rekons instead of the low pressure HRII that I normally ride. The start mileage in Eco slowly went up to 44m again. It's back to 41 now. At a variety of intervals, the expected mileage during the ride has fluctuated from 18 to 63! The LBS told me that the expected mileage displayed is influenced by what I have been doing.

The range calculation on the Bosch Purion display is comical. This was the stated range 12km into a ride last summer:

That is something I have never looked at. I think I must have initially, enough to see it had no value.

Shimano e8000 with 7000 display.

I only do partial charges most of the time, like 70 - 80%, if that means anything.

I agree, I gave up on range long ago. I must admit that I LOVE the Kiox display that displays the actual battery %. this has much more value to me than range that seems to jump all over the place. And which doesn't know if you have a hill to go up, flat or downhill. A headwind or tail wind changes things too. Soft or hard ground etc. etc. etc.
I have only run out of battery once with the Kioy, and I discovered that that happens at 8% It was a nasty surprise as I still had to bike a couple of hundred meters up a steep hill with a heavy backpack on.But that is calculated into my mental computer now.

Had a nice chilled trail ride around bordon last weekend, and also some techy climbs in turbo. The range has changed a fair bit. Just a little shocked how much !

Best I have ever had was 93 miles in Eco. Average in Eco is usually 60-ish miles. eMTB max is usually somewhere in the 40s. I have a 625 battery for my Bosch motor.

Hi all,

I have an emtb with SHIMANO STEPS E7000 motor and SHIMANO STEPS E8010 504Wh battery. I bought it in July 2021 and have ridden 1100 km until now. After full battery charge, before starting riding, the range display has shown 100 km in eco mode, 75 km in trail mode, 50 km in boost mode so far. But now, after full battery charge, before starting riding, it shows 89 km in eco mode, 67 km in trail mode, and 44 km in boost mode.

It is interesting that the battery system can analyze the energy consumption of the previous ridings and changes the range after a full charge.

Is there anyone who confirms with shimano that the system really analyzes previous ridings and changes the range after a full charge, before starting riding?
