I've been running Sram Maven brakes (silver & ultimate) on both of my bikes, happy with them

my Mrs runs Hayes Dominion A4 on all her bikes....

so I bought a used set of Hayes Dominion T4 to try 🤠

I'm also swapping the axs dropper (on my Canyon) so fitted the Dominions at the same time....
so axs 175mm wireless dropper to Oneup v2 240mm cable dropper (secondhand on ebay:cool:)
and swapped from Canyon's internal routed headset bearing assembly to one from Easybikeparts Easybikeparts IS51 ICR Upper Headset Assembly for integrated cable rou
so hopefully easier maintance🤞

^^ too lazy to bleed brakes and having swearing over dropper cable but.........

then I bought a secondhand set of Lewis LHT brakes (ebay Hamerika) out of curiosity.........

oops🤡
I'd be interested to hear what you think of the Lewis brakes - the AE look like bargains

Dale Stone (a local here) did a YouTube review on these brakes. My son-in-law installed a set. He was using some MT7’s and then Hope’s.

2 rides then sold them.
I'll see if Dale Stone has a review - I think I watched one of his on another set of Lewis brakes
thanks

Her Scottish accent is very weak. She almost speaks normal-ish.

But we live in a galaxy far far away. 😉
Some folk never lose their home tongue next people go away for a month and come back talking different. Changing accent we have a saying ( Tint the tongue ye were born with ). In the oil boom in Aberdeen we had Plastic Yanks they spoke like the Americans and had never been out of Aberdeen.

A bell. I bought it a bell. A shiny, happy bell.

I bought a bell and it doesn't fit. Very annoying yesterday when I met the odd grumpy walker and they whinged about me not having one. I bought a Knog and it goes from 25mm to 31.8mm. My bars go from 22 to to 35 in the middle. It was cheap but they only had that size. I now know I need the small one. 🙄

I'm curious about these but as they were bought secondhand they could be a bit of a lemon

front were complete & bled - fetl good off a bike, rear was cut (as normal) so will be connected and bled then tried with external hose routing to save the hastle involved with removing / threading 😶

not the cheapest experiment but 'for science' 🤡

I had a similar incident. Saw a group of female hikers(8-10) on a narrow trail. I kept my distance and slowed until I could safely pass. (Less than a minute wait).

Suddenly the last female hiker saw me and DRAMATICALLY reacted. She suggested that I give her warning and use a bell. Since I could barely hear her …because of the safe distance between us…I just nodded and smiled.

Some rides are interesting …never a dull moment. 😉

I hot a timber bell for xmas it needs to be quite bumpy before you hear it . Dogs no problem but folk with headphones ,well that's another story.

they look like good - nice CnC work, decent design plus they use mineral oil
hopefully not a lemon!!!

Lots of not so nice people out there. I couldn't be any nicer even on narrow roads I stop and let cars past I'm never in a hurry. But if you ruffle my feathers stand you by.

Another reason to hate SRAM brakes too - the alignment of the master cylinder (too close to the bars) greatly limits mounting accessories like a bell

I usually try the “Mr Nice Guy “ route. Unless they call me a Cheater.…then things get blurry and …that’s all I want to say about that.
