I just got the 7iDP Sam Hill Knee Pads. They only have shin protection on the upper half of the shin though. I got the medium size since I was on the edge between medium and large but it seems a little tight. I just ordered the large and I'll keep the size that fits best. My advice, if your in between sizes, order both and return the one that doesn't work. Now, these are my first pads and I'm sure it'll take a couple rides to get used to them but, my pedals (and poor riding) have dictated that I should wear pads. Good luck. Steve_Sordy's recommendation of Troy Lee Designs is a solid choice as well, I just didn't find what I thought would work for me in their current line-up (but I could be wrong).

Just checked mission control rides I had a shin /pedal fight in September not a bad one ,wee bit blood . Mark still there six months later . Now If it had been a 80s bear trap pedal probably still be in hospital . Only us pensioners will remember these . Not called Bear traps for nothing. They took no prisoners.

I grabbed a Wheeltop electronic derailleur system because I wanted to: 1) remove a cable on my new Wild build due to HCR, & 2) be able use it with whatever cassette I want, which at this time is a Sram 11 speed.

It'll be a few weeks before I can report on it's performance, however the weight surprised me. It's really good, especially compared to a SRAM 11sp X01 which is very light on it's own.

I checked their site, nothing really caught my eye. Also their stuff is very pricy for my liking.
Anyway I ordered some Ion sleeve shin guards (no reviews though) and was considering Ion k-lite knee guards, but ordered Ixs flow 2.0 instead as I do just general trail riding with lots of pedaling and climbing.
 
I appear to have an alarming lack of pins on my eThirteen Base pedals so have just ordered some Burgtec M4 composites.

Hahaha I have had that stand for years I’ll make sure I put them down for the next pic haha yeah RS do make it straight forward if even I can do it ha
 
New CrankBrothers Mallet Lace clip-in shoes. They have been hard to get in the last year or two, I emailed CB a while back and they said they had supply chain issues. Looks like its still going as size 44 (10.5) is hard to get in anything but black.

Left to right. First pair, blue 2021 - still going, bequeathed to #1 son which he still wears on his occasional ride.
Second pair, blue 2023 - lasted a couple of years until I had a massive pedal strike that stripped my Bosch chainring off the motor drive spindle, this cracked the sole at the cleat plate. I've kept them as they can still be worn if needed in an emergency but more so for spare laces, cleat plate etc..
Third pair, purple 2025 - still going, wore them today... I did put a stick through the side mesh a few months ago which gouged my foot. A dab of glue fixed the hole on the side of the shoe, but didn't fix the gouge on my foot.
Fourth pair, blue 2026. Arrived yesterday, not needed yet but I'll fit some cleats and wear them in gradually.

Awesome shoes for my wide feet, they also work well for bikepacking trips where you wear them riding during the day, then wear them to the pub at night for dinner and beers. Saves carrying extra shoes.

First 2 pairs were size 43.5, unable to get that size in 2025, I went 44 on the purple ones. New blue are also 44 as that little bit of extra room felt good.

NExt time, try the Ride Concepts for a wider foot, they work really well for me.

The boy is still a CB guy, but i'm deffo Ride Concepts now.

I had a pair of Ride Concepts before, they fitted well too. Weren't the best looking shoes, the nicer RC shoes are all for flats. I've had Five Tens, Spech 2FO's, Leatt and RCs in freeride/trail style shoes, the CB's have been my fave (obviously).

I've been trying to get a pair of RC for ages now but the UK site is always out of stock due a a warehouse move that must of been going on for like 6 months now 🙄😂
 
I got a pair of RC Accomplice (flats) from Sports Direct for around 50% off RRP a while back. They're great riding shoes, but you do need to size up vs your normal footwear.

Bought a WTB Solano saddle to (hopefully) replace my WTB Volt which is the best saddle I've ever had.

Why?

When I cannot fault the Volt?

EXCEPT it seems that when I drop the seat I move forward just far enough to hook the bottom of my jacket/jersey/T over the front of the saddle, then have to unhook myself before moving around which of course pisses me off. The Solano is about 25mm shorter than the Volt (240 vs 265mm) so hopefully won't hook like the Volt but be just as comfortable. We. Shall. See.

Hi all new this week and just fitted them except for the cassette , would love your opinions as to have I lost the plot with the new wheels , mixing new and retro styles together, I’m still on the fence atm , I may have other plans for the new wheels yet or as I’ve not used them might even sell them on , unsure , instead of purple hubs , black discs and black rims , we have smoke grey hubs , purple discs and obviously silver rims .
Good or bad , thumbs up or down, I can take it 😊

I dig the purple bits! I think I prefer the black rims but those silver ones could grow on me. It's the fox podiums that just don't work on your bike however, since I'm a I nice guy and want to help you, I would be willing to swap my 36's straight across to save you any trailside mockery. You're welcome.;)
