I was on this forum a couple of different times in the past and it was very different. I'm looking for a place where I can talk about riding, get motivated, look at cool new components, help people new to make good decisions because it's really easy to get the wrong bike. I'm on my 9th and that's not from choosing well. But those bad choices have literally never been about the motor. Even when I got one I didn't really like.

But now this is all just about Avinox. There's a bunch of people on here with very high post counts and you can skim through the history it's all the same thing. Like a horny Jack Russell just at everyone's leg the whole time about the Avinox motor. For months and months on end, unceasingly. It starts to look like a psychological problem. I don't have the energy or inclination to fight.

I get you love your bike, but I love mine too. And while I think I'm about 40% as emotional about my motor, I don't want to have it constantly berated. As said above - I'm here to get MORE motivated. Not to get upgraditis. The discussion of frames, the most important part of the bike, is dead. And a lot of these posters are super narrow minded. Maybe it's about not being a MTBer before being an eMTBer. That's a weird phenomenon we're only going to get more of I guess. But this constant bickering and shit fighting over the motor - not even the majority of what matters about the bike - is just doing my head in. It isn't stopping. It hasn't stopped, the history is there to see. I find myself arcing up because I'm a bit on the spectrum and things that don't make sense cause me emotional damage :). And maybe that's a big part of the problem for me, admittedly.

So I'm out. I'll find some riding videos to get enthused. Probably every forum is just going to be this tribal "mines better that yours" bullshit, I would imagine.

This is still a valuable resource for info about bikes, how tos and that kind of thing. But Gemini indexes it all. I can get the info without the emotion. Perfect.

Flame away, I won't see it.

Here's some inspiration!

Yeah, I get ya annoyance. This forum is more populated with cashed up mild old aged guys more interested in the latest bike specs than ripping it up on those bikes.

Any way. I enjoy the inspirational riding posts. So feel free to bombard me with inspiration. I don't care what motor you have on ya E bike and am more interested in what you do on the E than the bike its self.

I think it is just a phase, before avinox it was levo rumours. I think people wanting to discuss new bike options or talking about their new toy have always been common topics

It's funny how people get so put off because something is overly popular or talked about. In all aspects of life. I hate XXXX because everyone has one.....

But yeah this forum is pretty annoying and we all contribute. But I sure love the info on new bikes that's coming out and the speculation is like a damn soap opera :ROFLMAO:

No idea what you're even on about. More than half of the general discussion threads are not Avinox related, and most of the Avinox related ones are because a ton of brands just launched new bikes with Avinox motors.

What a drama queen.

There certainly has been an increase in bot/human comment stuffing campaigns happening this year. I'm chalking that up to the scourge of AI accessibility. No idea what the costs are, but it's obviously pretty cheap to employ an army of agents to drive the conversation in your favor.

I found this is a fantastic solution: if you don' like a thread, just leave. Don't have a fit, just go. Why argue? It's either a bot or an idiot. Arguing online will only sap your life-force.

I kind of see what the OP is saying, there’s a ‘noisy majority’ of Avinox fans who are very keen to sniff out any less than awesome praise and stamp on it.

There’s also been a massive uptick in vocal US cousins many of whom seemingly don’t like any kind of talk about power restrictions, equating it with some kind of restriction of freedom and guns.

But yes, I’m wondering if DJI should re-brand Avinox to Clitoris, because every annoying c&*t has one…

I think there's a few vocal Avinox haters and people get riled up by them because they behave pretty much exactly like hikers/equestrians that want to ban mtb from trails.

Are you sure? For me, the problem is those who do not accept that Avinox becomes the best engine, and who fight to try to denigrate it. We experienced the same conflict in the small world of the EMTB, when the EXPERT appeared and then before at the beginning of the EMTB. Each time, a real "change of game" happened. Many people who are convinced that they have the best product do not accept that someone can have something much better (plus if it is cheaper) and try to convince others that they are wrong when they are not now.

Honestly, if people are that bothered that they think somebody has a better motor than them, then they need better things to worry about.

Surely it should be renamed to "Thrush" if all the owners are irritating cunts?

Now now, don’t go putting words into my mouth!

Whilst every annoying member seems to have an Avinox, not every Avinox owner is annoying… 👍

Well, in his defence he does say he's somewhere on the spectrum. I'd guess somewhere between Indigo and Violet.

I’m off my bike now and will be for a few months yet due to a high speed OTB in March…….didnt realise how much I miss not getting out in the hills. My Ebike is six years old and my solace. It’s my happy time with good friends. So pleased it has a motor otherwise I’d not be out in the hills but stuck at home.
Fair enough on the point of an older generation posting stuff on here but this technology has come to us later on in life and has been a god send. I ride to my limits all the time but occasionally over my limit hence the time off the bike but it’s not going to stop me ripping the trails to the best of my ability once I’m fixed up.

Crikey, sounds bad, but at least you’re still here!

All the best for the recovery. 👍

I agree. I'm tired of hearing about the fantastic power of the avinox while every thread about unlocking the stupid speed limiter is proceeded with urgent warnings. How about a warning before every Avinox page that the bike and the app are sending your personal information to china where they sell it making profit on the bikes they sell at cost. Also the majority of the talk about weight, fat downtubes and chainstay lenght is getting tiring. we have heard it all at this point. Time to shut up, maintence trails and ride.

Sounds a lot like sethimus, who manages to offend half the forum before breakfast before retreating to his troll cave.

Unfortunately every forum has one: the guy who's somehow the loudest person in every thread while contributing the least. Everyone is ad idiot and he's the sole owner of truth, wisdom, and common sense.

The funny part is that genuinely smart people rarely feel the need to constantly advertise it. At some point, all the boasting stops looking like confidence and starts looking like a cry for attention. The louder the superiority act, the more it resembles a desperate attempt to hide some very obvious insecurities.

Just be aware that no matter what forum you join, sooner or later you'll run into a dethimus-type troll. Offending strangers across cyberspace isn't his hobby, it's apparently his entire personality.

My advice: don't feed the troll.
