• Warning!!

Riding a tuned or deristricted EMTB is not a trivial offence and can have serious legal consequences. Also, many manufacturers can detect the use of a tuning device or deristricting method and may decline a repair under warranty if it was modified from the intended original specification. Deristricting EMTB's can also add increased loads for motors and batteries. Riding above the local law limit may reclassify the bike as a low-powered bike, requiring insurance, registration and a number plate.

Be aware of your local country laws. Many laws prohibit use of modified EMTB's. It is your responsibility to check local laws. Ignoring it, has potential implications to trail access, and risk of prosecution in the event of an accident.

I have a 2021 mondraker ecrafty and just bought the vol speed v 3 tuning kit. One of the 1st instructions is to remove the bike battery... Problem is the battery on this bike is not really removable.

Anyone set up used the vol speed without removing their battery?

Is it a cautionary instruction to prevent accidential motor activation when you're not ready for it? I'm sure my VOLspeed V4 said the same.
Hows your Volspeed 4? have you tried all the features? How long have you had it? Any errors? Do you have to wait for the ebike to turn off itself? Do you feel the need to go beyond 45km/h cap it offers? I am currently waiting for mine to arrive

The V4 was so simple to fit. It's on my mountain bike and I've often been for rides where I haven't even switched it on because I'd rarely even reach 15mph, let alone be able to go faster.
I've left mine basic, no PIN, no adjustments, just max set at 26.1mph which is more than enough for any tarmac sections I encounter.
I might have different views if I mainly ride tarmac or was still commuting by bike. Boy I wish I'd had this motor and chip when I was commuting.
I've always turned the bike off without waiting at the end of a ride, I'd not given it a thought, but then again I'm not using it for long periods above 15.5mph, just the odd squirt, so that may not be necessary for me.
