Got me a Vala GX a month ago and I love the bike. I come from a Orbea Rise with shimano engine so I dont know what to expect from the range of the bike. Today I drove 45 km with 577 meter of elevation according to the flow app. My average watt input was 141w. Battery consumption was 55% in emtb mode with maksimum of 85nm and 600w. My weight is around 77 kg geared up. I must say I find the battery consumption a little high compared to my old Orbea Rise. What do you think about the range?
Is there a way to see battery consumption for each ride in the flow app? I cant find it

That consumption sounds reasonable to me. Which variant Rise (battery size + motor power) are you comparing it to?

Then use a lower modes if you want more range and less power usage.

There is no free lunch with e-bike. Its either more motor/battery or more legs and lungs.

I have my blue mode set as tour + 7
At 70nm. That gets more range than 85nm emtb. But less speed more legs/lungs.

I am aware of I can adjust the power etc. My hope was to make a comparison with other Vala users to see if my battery maybe is faulty. Since we don't have many SC vala users in my country

The brand of bike is irrelevant. Its the motor battery combo is what you need to compare and that's a Bosch either or gen 5.
Your range is representative of my bosch gen 5 with 600wh emtb 85nm mode. I'm doing more elevation and less distance. That makes sense, you trade elevation for distance and vise versa. Most of the below rides are a combo of emtb 85nm and tour+ set at 70nm.

I'm on Crestline S180. 180mm travel. 80kg with kit on.

The below one i had 1 x 300mtr vert uplift on the shuttle so this is around 1236mtr vert climbing

Not sure, but my wife, who has THREE eBikes is disappointed with the range, especially after the last "update".

There's no change in range after thr latest update unless you wound up the setting to 100nm... in which case yes there is a decrease in range because ya using more power. ....

There's no free lunch. Its use more or less legs/lungs or more/less battery/motor.

I comfortably get more range on my Vala than I did on my 630Wh EP8 bike. The new update is a positive for range management if properly used. Set one of your modes to match the Rise in terms of support factor and max torque / power, and see what happens. If it’s still deficient you might actually have a problem worth engaging your bike shop on.

Well, she is not using the higher power, she actually thinks it is lower power after the update... I'm going to have her keep better records to compare so I can see if this is actually something she is seeing, or is just mistaken?!

Thanks for all your input. It seems like my battery is ok but I did hope for more rider data so I could have made a apple to apple comparison 😊
