I am curious how you feel about commuter and road ebikes that have what in the US/Canada is Class 3 ability , so a 45kph/28mph top speed. I'm not sure if there is any sort of equivalent for road focused bikes in Europe. Do you think that a higher speed limit makes sense in some ebike applications, even if it doesn't belong on the trail? In my experience, for road use, the higher limit is much nicer to ride, as the lower speed limits are regularly exceeded even on a purely muscle powered bike leading to an awkward "hitting a wall" sensation when the motor cuts out. The higher limit also allows one to move with traffic rather than being constantly passed by cars, which feels safer in many contexts. But I can see how, if abused on mixed use trails, it will lead to further conflict with other users.

yes, they need a license and insurance and a plate to be identifiable.

I can confirm with 100% certainty that the Amflow won’t have an Enduro version until spring 2027.

I can also confirm that they’ve really shot themselves in the foot with the top-of-the-line model; I recommend not selling your current Amflows because they’re going to increase in value ;).

I can confirm that the new motors are 100% compatible with the mounts on current bikes.

Thanks for the info. Could you possibly say whether the VPN channel will still exist?

What incentive does a company have to make it harder than the token geo block currently in place? They can correctly tell the regulators that it meets the legal limits of the country it is sold in, and if someone uses a VPN to break laws, that's not their fault! This would put me off buying one if there isn't a good way around it.

how about trying to sell a city bike? that could go double the legal limit in europe?

European governments must believe that it is acceptable to block access to something that can simply be gotten around with a VPN. Take the UK for example where every teenager quickly learnt what aVPN does so they can still watch porn...

I can tell you now that there’s one surprise you’re not going to like at all.

My guess is they will downgrade a part thats proving troublesome for warranty claims, maybe a worse speedsensor? more conservative battery charge/discharge?

Could be region locking as others have said, they could probably lock the speedlimit using serial numbers instead of IP addresses if they wanted now.
