I’ll add to this thread my resent battle with a mystery creak on a 2021 Levo.
So, a creaking sound when pedalling either sitting or standing. Louder the more torque there is going through the drivetrain.
Not the motor as there is no creaking when pumping or turning or jumping etc. no matter how much I press on the cranks.
Okay, it’s always the 3 per side bolts holding the motor to the frame right? For once it wasn’t those this time but always good to check first.
Next on the list the chainring nuts. Greased lightly and new loctite… but no not that this time. Now it’s getting tricky as it’s always one of the above.
It’s a Specialized so I’ll re-grease the main pivot aaaaand it’s not that either.
Next I cleaned and lubed the chain, and it’s not that either, worth a shot though.
What’s next, rear spokes are a bit loose and ping when pedalling. Trued the wheel but no help. Getting annoyed by now
Whilst putting the rear wheel back the freehub wasn’t spinning nicely any more. The outer bearing was so spinning so rough I could feel it and hear it.
I changed the freehub bearings and that’s it smooth as butter once again.
