I’ve made a few upgrades that have made my rail even more fun than it already was, if that’s even possible.
1. Cush Core front and rear
2. Wolf tooth dropper post remote
3. XT shifter
4. Rev Grips
5. 108 point of contact hub upgrade
6. 160mm crank arms

Next I’m getting my first pair of clip in pedals. Saints with Bontrager rally shoes.
What are some upgrades you have done to your Rail?

WTB saddle. The stock one is the most uncomfortable I've ridden in the last 30years.
Rogue (?) grips - reduced a lot of arm pump
Gotta get some tape & change the colour - that grey & maroon puts me to sleep

My Rail9.7 upgrade:
1.Magic mary & Eddy Current
2.Charger damper upgrade
3.Crank brothers HIGHLINE Dropper(125mm)
4.XT Shifter & Derailleur
5.77 Design stem & Carbon handle bar
6.Prologo Proxim W650 saddle
7.Magura e-STOP brake
8.PNW LOAM Grip

They give you the feel of more suspension. You can run silly low PSI. Helps prevent flats and rim damage.

How do you like those brakes? I feel the stock brakes are good but obv could have more stopping power.

So far;
ODI Rogue grips
Spank Vibrocore Bars
Nukeproof Horizon pedals
Galfer 223mm front rotor
Magic Mary front tyre
Planet-X Barbieri tyre insert in the rear
Ergon SM e-Mountain saddle
Invisiframe

To do;
2021 170mm airshaft or Vorsprung Smashpot coil conversion for the forks
Damper upgrade, either FAST YariUp or Charger 2.1
Coil shock, undecided on brand, but either DVO Jade X or Ohlins TTX 22M
150 or 170 dropper post

Tempted to try;
27.5" rear wheel
35mm stem
I have both in the man-cave...

Needed;
Stabilisers... eff off @Zimmerframe

Hi Arcadyus
How do you find the hub upgrade, does it fee and sound better louder?

It would be intersting to see what a 27'5 rear is like. Is it as easy as taking off my other bike & trying? I'm sure it's a boost.
My Yari seemed to bang a bit on jump landings the other day, Be good to find a remedy for that.

Ideally, you'd need a 12 speed cassette on the wheel, but with a bit of tinkering with the stops you can use an 11 speed.

I'll be fitting one as soon as TFTuned have stock...

Can we please get the details and parts needed to do the 108 point of contact hub upgrade? Thanks!

Part # 552415
Part # 552414

Then just remove the rear wheel. Pull the cap off the cassette and then pull the cassette out. Put the 3 springs and pawls in the hub. Be careful the springs like to fly. You'll want to use a pick. And do them one by one. Put the spring in place the pawl in the slot. Then use the pick to depress the spring at the same time pushing the pawl down. Grease helps a ton use lots.

Thanks for the quick reply! I have to Rail 5, so my hub is probably different that your Rail 7. Rail 7 looks like it comes with Shimano MicroSpline freehub and my Rail 5 comes with Shimano 8/9/10 freehub...I tried just pulling my cap off, but it will not budge. Sorry I know this is a Rail 7 thread...sorry for the spam.

My Rail 9 Upgrades (so far)........

MRP Ribbon Coil Fork (set at 160 with firm spring)
Fabric Scoop Saddle
One Up 210mm dropper
Michelin Wild Enduro F&R
Syntace Vector Carbon Bars
Race Face Chester Pedals
Sonder Love Mud 55mm stem

On order.....
Ohlins TTX 22 coil shock

Thinking about......
Rev or Deathgrips
Hope e-cranks

What length was your old dropper?

Damn. Too long for me and my stumpy legs.

I’m on a Large frame. 185mm Bikeyoke Revive. I’ll be putting it up for sale soon! ?
I'm wanting to run a 185mm Bike Yoke dropper on my large size Rail 7. How did you find yours fit clearance wise? No Issues? Did you have it fully slammed into the frame?

Length of post at full extension was 460mm or 490mm including mechanism at bottom. Drop is 185mm (obvs). You could work out from your current set up whether 460/490 will work to the kink in seat tube.
