Got an email from Trek saying something was getting released this Friday the 13th.

I've heard about a 90Nm motor but that's about it. 90Nm in the Fuel and/or Slash + would be something special. Especially if it keeps the natural feeling and silence of the current 60Nm TQ motor.

Anyone heard any rumours?

Trek’s 50 year anniversary celebration soon. I wonder if they are timing something “special” for that event. I doubt it’s a motor though. There’s not much room for a NM increase for the TQ motor either (60nm)..

A new colour? 🤷🏼‍♂️

If the TQ60 was bumped up to around TQ70-75, that would have 100% been the bike I would have chosen.

But I would not count on that occurring.

Will be interesting to see what's coming.

Rail was recently updated, it’s probably gonna be the Slash. There is a rumour TQ is releasing an HPR90. Perhaps this will be the first bike to have it? It’s entirely possible and makes a ton of sense, they’ve been making a 120Nm cycloidal motor for cargo e-bikes for a while so 90Nm is logical.

The Slash's got new models when the HPR60 dropped already. Not sure why they would have done that if they were gonna do another Slash with a full power motor. It's hard to see where Trek has space for another emtb in the current line up.

Yes but that’s what Orbea has been doing with the Wild for the past three years: Bosch Gen 4 frame modified to fit Gen 5 but no room for the new 800Wh so still using 750Wh as an option. And now, less than a year later, a whole new Wild with Avinox is in the works.

The Slash was completely unchanged when it received the HPR60. But because it wasn’t a perfect fit, the motor has to be modified to fit. Cooling fins had to be removed and as such the HPR60 in the Slash is detuned to top out at 300W as opposed to its max of 350W. So it was kind of a bandaid solution.

If you look, all the Slashes have been on sale, including the updated HPR60’s. So a new Slash is still a valid possibility.

That is only true for retrofitting a HPR60 on to earlier Slash+ models. And likely only a policy to prop up sales.... otherwise it'd be less expensive to buy an Older Slash+ and retrofit the new motor.

2026 Slash+ has the full power HPR60 with fins intact.

But you could be right about a full-power Slash+ or Fuel+.

Be interesting if TQ make a 90nm motor. It would make sense seen as maxon appear to be targeting the same market as the tq60 with their motor.

Tbh, if this is real, it would put the bike right on the top of my purchase list.

Same. A lot of good bikes out there at the minute but something like the Fuel/Slash+ with a 90Nm TQ motor would be hard to ignore. I really value a motor that doesn't rattle. One of the things that has kept me away from the DJI.

Did they? The only trek models I was aware of that got the HPR60 was the Fuel+

Over here the Slash+ are still all HPR50s

Slash+ 50Nm have been on sale in Aus for a while alongside the 60Nm version.

It is the 13th any word? I am guessing it will be the new Top Fuel (non-ebike) but would love to see a TQ 85-90nm Fuel +

I haven’t seen or heard anything yet. Only that it’s Trek 50th anniversary. Maybe
A version of the Mondone is being released. Who knows?

Not seen anything interesting. Just seen to be mainly fancy paint jobs so far lol
Trek’s site is only showing the Mondone for the Friday 13 anniversary.…so far.

A higher nm TQ motor would be nice but I don’t think, that alone would make me change from the Bosch CX. A 90 nm TQ with a larger battery is getting into the Full Fat territory.

I still want a SL. The TQ 50 with a 360 WH is fine for now.

So.. it's nothing? The email said to check their website first thing in the morning
They have dropped the prices quite a bit so I'm still hopeful of something dropping. The Slash+ dropped another $2k so I'm wishing for a 90Nm version damn soon before I buy that 60Nm version!

Yeah, they dropped prices. I have been thinking that Powerfly FS+ 4 equipped could be my next commuter, it`s now 500€ cheaper. There`s still couple obstacels…i`m buying a van so all my money will go there 😀and these FS eq bikes are so heavy that I cannot lift them to the repair stand 😂
