Afternoon All,

Hope your all having a good week!

I have gone for the roof rack option (Thule Upride) after seeing many people using them and out of simplicity/Cost and going to remove the battery to keep the weight down under the limit.

Are there covers you can buy to cover there the battery comes out? or is the best option just to put clingfilm around the bottom to avoid any ingress or dirt entering the downtube?

If you have to remove the battery, just cover the hole with plastic film. It's very easy solution.
I did it last summer when drove to Alps, but return trip I just kept the battery at it's position

Thanks Mcharza, my thoughts initially was to use cling film to cover the battery hole. I will do that today and see how I get on. It would be nice if there was a cover that slotted in. Effectively the battery without the battery :)

I have a cover for my shimano battery connectors from the same company, its neoprene I think, and has done a good job of protecting the connections to date

I have a mate who has one of these he uses on his road bike when he goes out to Europe each summer for a trip, he use it on a roof rack, I would be a bit concerned about wind catching it but he hasn't had any issues
