The direct-to-customer brand YT was among the first players in the emtb field. The original Decoy was well priced, and it had modern frame geometry that still holds up today. The new YT Decoy is very different to the old model. The most noticeable differences are the change from Shimano to Bosch motor, bigger battery and increased fork travel. Read more ...

Although an informative article , not sure this forum should be promoting a brand that is technically in receivership , within UK , EU markets , and with lots of people currently out of pocket ,out of bike or no where to go with warranty issues Why would you even consider YT with your cash on this new model , not that it is available yet of course .
Personally find it quite amoral , that this brand can advertise their " new bike whilst going through this restructuring / receivership , they should first , fix the shit they are in with their current customers who have paid money in good faith and got feck all , apart from a patronising email.

Yeah, we did discuss this before we decided to do the article. After emailing with YT we got a bit more info than in the initial press release about the restructuring. YT is working their way through this, and they have to sell bikes to manage. I feel it's fair to publish the new bike while pointing out the situation.

Looks good but I wouldn't be risking a buy. Look at the pole. Never heard how many people lost money on that

I’m ok with them trying to sell more bikes. How else do think they’ll stay afloat or rebound? Hopes and dreams? As long as they are in communication with the affected people let them proceed as planned. People need to get off their instant internet death talk. They’ve been around for awhile so I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt.

I know this is fickle, but I see this has got a renthal stem with BLACK alloy across the bars, rather than the classic bronze/gold colour. Has anyone seen this anywhere before, or know where to find it??

As someone who bought a bike during thier recent sale I really take issue with this article. You are promoting YT and not taking the side of the consumer. Currently you cannot even do a normal 14 day return with an unridden bike. And thier customer service is really slow and unresponsive. This is not a company you can promote without many caviats in your article I feel like. This is not my first rodeo, I dont think they will survive

Sorry to hear this. How has it been since your purchase? Have they contacted you, or left it for you to claim a refund via your payment company?

Regarding publishing content on the new bike... it’s a tough one. We didn’t want to ignore the new bike, especially when it could be key to whether YT survives or not, but we also made sure to flag the situation they’re in.

It’s a bit of a catch 22. I dont think that talking about is giving the company a free pass. Loads of people still want to know about the product, even if they’ve lost trust in the brand. I’m not defending how they’ve handled things, just trying to cover both sides honestly.

In my video I actually opened it with four slides explaining the situation so everyone’s fully aware of what’s going on.

They have after 2.5 weeks of initiating a return told me that they cannot process normal returns of unridden bikes (I will get my money back as I paid with CC).
I just saw your video, that was much better presented, maybe the same caveats could be added to the article. I'm not against posting news related to new bikes, the competition is sorely needed with the prices we pay for these bikes. Peace!

So you did get a bike, and want to return it? Or you didnt yet recieve it, but after the recent news, want to return it when you get it?

Will have a look at the article and make it more prominent - thanks for feedback.

To be fair, this was made very clear at the start of the video & we're all (mostly) grown ups capable of making our own decisions. I agree with the other poster above, if YT are to regroup, then they must sell bikes, there are responsibilities on both sides of the equation, YT have to be seen to honour sales & support & customers have to buy the bikes.

I saw Knut and Rob boarding a private jet in full YT merch, and with lot of YT goodie bags......so...

But but ... New .. shiny.. 800wh . 170/180. Ohlins.
For me, it's the lardy form factor I can't see past. I look at this & then the new wave of DJI bikes & think it just looks so clunky. Maybe it rides great but aesthetics is a thing - The Megamo Reason is the one to beat right now imo, assuming they ever make it out of the factory.

The lardy form factor is a specific design decision.

Spesh spent years expanding their downtube in a way which seemed unnecessary.

YT have copied it.

It all comes down to marketing. YT traditionally sold to younger, more athletic.buyers. With a fat downtube they hoped to expand to the old fat boys and girls too.

A skinny downtube just makes the rider look fat In Instagram pictures (or Instagran for the older users)

Don't think they included SWAT too though (Soil bags, Wet Wipes, Andrex Toilet Paper)

I received the bike, but its not working (Fazua...). So want to return it, as its not used

Indeed...

Curious if the name Levo was developed to accommodate many words that start with "L" in relation to size. One that comes to mind is not "Evolution" but "Legacy"

One of the best looking emtb at the moment. Great little details like charging port, cable ports, screen integration, battery attachement etc. And those colours 😍 And under 24kg with 800wh battery and full enduro spec. Well done YT.

The chunky tubes on rear triangle, the top tube and mostly overall has been YT's design language since the beginning, my first trail bike was the original Jeffsy from 2018, still own it and I can see so many similarities. I also feel that's why it's measures are more balanced, it's easier on the eyes, in comparison I think the thin rear triangle tubes on the new Levo make the chunky downtube seem even bigger.

I also think that 》attention to detail《 on this bike has to be one of the best, if not the best in the industry.

The rotation of the motor I think it's also in a perfect angle upwards, no like some other new bike that have it completely straight.

The YT buyers want to save money by buying from an online distributor rather than a local shop. And you want a full customer service experience like a local shop, but do not want to pay for it? Okay. This is the risk you take when you buy from a web-only company. You played the game and got burned. This is coming from a 2024 YT decoy MX 4 owner. Mine has been great so far, with very few issues. Will I buy from YT again? Not for a few years. I do hope they get their shit together and come back strong. I am in the U.S.

For those that were unfortunate and did not receive their goods after paying for them, were they able to recover their lost money from their credit card company if they paid with a card?

Speaking of insurance in general... the reason I have insurance it so I can find out exactly why my claim will be denied :)

A lesson to be learned I am sure for the buyers of YT products. When using something other than a credit card I would be inclined to use paypal business (not friends and family of course) and request the company I am purchasing from, to cover the 2.9% surcharge for the protection.

US based here. I was gonna say got lucky but now I'm a bit worried. but I did snag a top spec decoy sn mx for the low. got a 2020 decoy with about 2500miles maybe if yt works it out the ohlins build is looking good.
