You can change the assist power levels to anything you want but you need the Bafang dealer tool. Which some folks have acquired

Hello guys,

what are the compatible thru axle (or specs) for the v2 frame (with udh) please ? mine is stuck for now
Hi, I bought this on the forum some time ago there were indications of the measurements I always have to receive the frame for verification but one of the forum changed it with these measurements

Hey y’all, it appears my frame has shipped. I’ve been provided a tracking number starting with HX_______, but was also provided a UPS Ground tracking number.

I assume the UPS number is for when the package arrives to the US? And the HX number is the ocean freight? Can anyone confirm? Also, how can I track my ocean shipment? The link I have is in Chinese.

Thanks!
Tommy

You need to ask for the ship name and date of sailing. Then there are apps on the internet to track marine transport. You can also get status info at the ports website it is coming into.

Thanks! I’ve asked about the ship name. One of the few English words in the documents I received was “Mackenzie 5E”. I’m curious if that may be the ship’s name. I searched and there is a ship named Mackenzie near China right now so maybe that’s it?

Yep, that’s the one I found! Now I’m looking for a free app or site where I can track its itinerary. If anyone has a suggestion, I’m all ears.

I currently have a bike built with the LCE930 frame with the M820 motor and am really enjoying it but would like to have a bigger battery for long ride days or out-of-town MTB trips (Bentonville, Colorado, etc.). I'm hoping you guys could answer a couple of questions for me:
  • The CEF50 lacks a seat stay bridge on the frame and I am concerned that the frame will be flexy. My current LCE930 frame has a seat stay bridge and I don't notice any excessive lateral flex. I'm a full-figured man of 205 pounds so I have to ask.
  • With the custom 720 Wh battery from SZZS, what information is missing due to the 720Wh battery not being CANBUS? I can currently see the state of each cell in the Bafang battery. Will it still be able to give me range estimates? Battery charge percentages?
  • Lastly, I have the Bafang BT F014 (410Wh) battery and was wondering if it would fit the CEF50 frame? I ask because I can buy the frame now and reuse the motor/battery until I can buy the larger 720 Wh battery (and flash my motor to 48v). Just thinking out loud on this one.

Thanks,
David

My CEF50 has no perceptible flex with me 170lbs/6'4" and I have nearly maxed out the 170mm/165mm travel the best I can do around here in Dallas. I can't help you on the battery questions as I make my own but do not think Bafang makes batteries for different bike brands - just their motors.

From a DIY standpoint, the CEF50 has a great beginner battery compartment (bigger) - LCE930 is a bit more of a challenge (narrower) as I understand it. LCE930 was my first choice but they do not have a XL size.

Bafang does make batteries like the BT-F014. The Bafang catalog lists all the batteries they make. Without canbus you will only see the estimated remain charge on the display. Just ask LInda or Jean of the Ft-014 will fit the CEF50.

I cannot say if battery fits or not, but as a temporary improvement at least you can flash a 36V firmware for your current setup. That will allow you to take more juice out of the battery. It will also give you somewhat more maximum power. Downside is battery percentge will not be correct, I have only tested this with 48V battery/43V firmware diy battery, so not exactly sure how the canbus will affect this.

HELLO Guy
the frame kit etc.should arrive next week I hope.
I modified a 216x63 shock absorber
it now measures 212\213mm
offset bushings, travel reducer, bringing it to 53 mm.
I will carry out tests by increasing the travel.
Some photos of the work.
I accept suggestions and criticisms, let me know your point of view.

It sounds like you should be fine. It appears a p nothing of greater than 210mm will force interference between the chain stay and frame so you’re fine there. And your 53mm of travel should clear from all I’ve read. I’m targeting similar stroke of 52.5mm. 😊

Hello, I just received my CEF50 set (size L) from Linda, I was waiting for it 3 months to receive, meanwhile I tested bike in same reach size, and i think it will be too big for me so I changed plans. I am offering my set for sale. Everything is packed as supplier sent me.
Frame is 100% new and in perfect order, never assembled, it is professionally packaged from supplier. I can ship it immediately in Europe (no 3-month wait!). I am based in Poland.

Agreed! I'm a heavy Clydesdale rider who does fairly aggressive trail/Enduro riding, hitting baby jumps/drops regularly....no problems in 1700 miles of desert chunk.

There's a few Enduro style big name bike frames that use the oversized rocker arm like ours with no crossbar on the stays. Off-hand I think one by Obrea and Ellsworth.

Also, an argument early in this thread that the lack of crossbar also gives the tire more seat stay or butt-rub clearance (especially if you overstroke the rear shock for a bit more travel like a few of us have 💪).

Recently I join an ebike enduro race and due to M820 motor does not fall into SL category I am forced to race against full size motor bike. I have no problem race against them, if i didn't get penalty time and crash , I should be top 5 position. So Cef50 has pass my test. Seriously I wish I can break my frame at age 45 but I can't cause i dont do big jump.

I broke my headset cup few month ago n replace it with Hope. Lucky I wasn't going fast or doing a jump. Only the cup crack.

I would not want it anyway. It is another cosmetic nothing for the folks who value looks over function, like the ICR headset routiing. I want the display right where it is on the bars where it is easy to see without taking my eyes off the trail.

💯I think the bar display is more headsup as you say for one's peripheral vision for a tight trail especially. (Shimano engineers seem to agree too). I can ill-afford more than a quick peak anyway or risk a wipe out.❌

Now after seeing the wireless DJI electronics, I'd like to see Bafang follow suit. Get rid of those nasty, cluttered display and power selector button wires...ya know for less wind drag😁 and of course sleekness. 👑
