I'm trying to spare you from an expensive motor replacement mate.Today is clearly “unhelpful post” day.
I don't see the value in destricting. My Trance tops out at 18.5 MPH (I wish it was 20 though) and I'm going just about as fast as I want to go. I ride single track and to top out requires a spin on the double track. And BTW, Giant's warrantee is worthless. I had a problem with my Sync drive pro with a week left on the warrantee and Giant refused to look at it.8 miles out today I got a SYNCHDRIVE WARNING and my motor conked out. I’m guessing that it has something to do with the SpeedBox, but I won’t know until I tear it down again. Anyone else ever see this?
It’s going to be a long, hilly 8 miles home.![]()
My guess is bikes been bricked by Giants speed tampering software, motor will have to reflashed by giant themselves.8 miles out today I got a SYNCHDRIVE WARNING and my motor conked out. It doesn't work with the newer version of the app where you need to open a Giant ID account. There u need to sign in to the app with data/wifi on and turn it off before connecting with BT.I only open the app and connect the app to the bike in airplane mode with wifi turned off.
I'm not interested in their updates.
They get their panties in a bunch while other quality brands allow a class 3 mode.
There are popular jump lines that require a speed over 20 mph to clear the gaps, it is disconcerting when you try to get a extra crank in coming up to a lip only for it to feel like you are pedaling through sand, right when you need just a little more speed.
Shoot, Im able to outpedal an ebike on flat or slight descent for short distances, until I run out of ass.
CCP level of control imho
Sorry you had to go through that, but yeah... expected...Final outcome: LBS replaced motor under warranty due to an “unspecified motor failure”. Returned the SpeedBox for a refund as it is clearly shite.
