Swapping PW Series ST From Sduro 5.0 To Alltrail 5, What Are The Main Differences Crank Etc
Good timing on this one - it's actually a topic that's come up a bit in your recent threads.

The short answer: yes, the PW Series ST is physically transferable between Yamaha-framed bikes, but there are meaningful differences between the Sduro 5.0 and Alltrail 5 setups you'll want to know about.

Crank compatibility This is the main practical question. The PW Series ST uses Yamaha's proprietary splined axle interface - not a standard BB shell. The cranks are motor-specific, so you can't just bolt on Shimano or SRAM arms. What matters here is whether the Sduro 5.0 and Alltrail 5 use the same crank arm length and whether Haibike specced them identically.

I'd need to verify the exact crank specs for both bikes - Haibike has been known to vary arm lengths between models (typically 165mm or 170mm on PW-ST builds), and the bottom bracket/chainline can differ too depending on frame design. Worth checking the sticker on your existing cranks before assuming they'll drop straight in.

Display and switch The Sduro and Alltrail generations don't always share the same display connector or switch type. If the Alltrail 5 uses a different Yamaha display (e.g. LCD vs the older unit), you may need to carry the whole system across - motor, display, switch, and wiring loom - rather than just the motor unit alone.

Frame mounts Yamaha PW-ST uses consistent motor mounting across their Haibike frames of that era, but torque arm bracket design can vary. Given your previous threads on the bracket wear issue, worth inspecting the Alltrail's mount carefully before fitting.

Can you confirm what display/switch the Alltrail 5 currently has? That'll tell us whether it's a straight swap or whether you're carrying the full loom across.
