Cheers that was correct refresh the cookies and it was all ok ordered it for only £285 !!! Probably have vat to pay when it comes into the uk

You've gotta admire SRAM for somehow convincing the averge punter £300 is a bargain for a mid range mech and shifter combo.
Would Sir be requiring the rainbow cassette and chain to go with that ?

Yeah. £285 is a huge discount off full retail. (which is an absolutely mental price IMO)
Kinda glad I prefer the greater control of mechanical shifters and actuators. (droppers and mechs) and comparitively narrow range gearing or my running costs would increase tenfold.
 
I'll let you know, I ordered the kit last week (from R2).

It's out for delivery with Parcelforce, haven't paid anything yet.

Your get hit for tax !!! I did

basically dhl passes it to parcelforce
Parcelforce send it from the hub to local depot then it sits there until you pay the vat and custom charges

you can either wait 5 days and your receive a letter requesting the amount or you can phone up there main number and they will give you a custom ref number then you can go to your local depot pay directly then collect it

if I remember correctly the total charge was about £65 !!!

It still works out cheaper but to be fair it all a bit of a Pfaff

i still don’t really understand how this custom stuff works !! As I also brought a set of crank arms they came from the same country by DPD , DPD had them at customs for 7 days !! Then just delivered with no charges to me
 
How much were the crank arms?
 
£38 they are only Shimano em900 alu ones couldn’t fine posh ones anywhere in 165 mm

That’s why there was no tax. Under £135 the retailer has to collect the VAT on behalf of UKG.

Hi James when you collected did you contact them or they contact you. I think I may have been charged duties & taxes - Tracking Says 12.14 Customs Charges Raised, 12.26 Revised Customs Charges Raised then 12.50 Released from customs this was the last update so I presume moving to delivery depot. I don't suppose any luck getting for 1st June as booked in for 2nd.
 
I had a card through the door saying it was as at my local post office.

My tracking never mentioned customs charges :-(
