This post is just a data point for anyone paying attention to Brose motor life. My sprag clutch is failing after 3 years of frequent riding(averaging 20 miles per ride and 3-ish rides per week). I got the motor error code on the TCU yesterday, and now back-pedaling is very stiff. I plan to send the motor to ebikemotorrepair, the US affiliate of Bearing Man's UK shop.

Mine has done 3 years so far, but it's just started doing some odd things around assist, torque sensor I recon.
Luckily it's a 2020 model so still warrantied.
I really don't know how some people manage get through 1 a month 😆

I think I have also faulty torque sensor. I have faced variance in assistance level and really often when I start pedaling assistance is much stronger than it should. When I pause for a while and continue pedalling again assistance is usually normal. I have also 2020 model and original engine.

What kind of symptoms you have?

Pretty much exactly that. Plus it spins the back wheel up with a high-speed whir in the air if I pedal into a jump.
