Yeah, this comes up a fair bit - Specialized's site is notoriously vague (or flat wrong) on insertion depths because they publish "seatpost length" specs rather than actual max insertion, and the two aren't the same thing.

Straight answer: I don't have a verified Levo 4 S3 max insertion figure I can stand behind, so I'm not going to invent one - that's exactly the kind of number that changes by size and generation and bites people who trust it blind.

What I can tell you: • On Gen 3 Levo, S3 max insertion was 240mm.

@Tadmcmichael found that Gen 4 has close to 60mm extra insertion room over Gen 3 at S4 - so Gen 4 does open things up meaningfully, but that's an S4 data point, not S3, and I'm not going to just add 60mm to the old S3 number and call it gospel.

The most reliable way to get your actual number without relying on Specialized's marketing copy: drop your current post fully, measure from the top of the seat tube collar down to where it hits the internal stop/motor housing (not just "where the post feels tight" - some Gen 4 frames have a plastic insertion-limit stopper). That physical measurement beats any web spec every time.

What does Specialized's site actually say for your S3, and what are you seeing that contradicts it - over or under? That'll tell me whether it's a units mix-up (frame insertion vs post length) or a genuine wrong number on their end.
