Classic films- cross of iron (war), the big country (western), sharkeys machine (cop),
Life of Brian (comedy)
Recent stuff- queens gambit series, star trek discovery, hunters, any of the narco series

star trek discovery
Nooooooooooooooooo!

I'd rather watch the original series where a dog with a horn stuck on it's head is considered a good enough attempt at an alien life form than the utter toss that is Discovery...

It really isn’t.

I’m not a Trekkie in any way but I’m know a guy who is. It’s hilarious asking him about Discovery and listening to the ranting that ensues.

Those nipple tassels are fucking lethal...

I like that even back then Sulu could have an 'assistance dog/unicorn'. Bless him.

Ex Machina is good. You can rent the house it was filmed in :)

Saw Parasite last week, thought it was ace.
I don't think I could ever enter that house!!

I watched Parasite on the plane. I realise Parasite won so many awards, and I did try watching it again from home - but I just couldn't get into it for some reason.
I must have a missing (or an extra) gene... ?
I couldn't get into Lord of the Rings either (not for the lack of trying )

Found the Ex Machina place. Looks like a great spot for a riding holiday :)

would love to see the Queen’s Gambit but I don’t have Netflix. Is there another way?
If you have a friend that has, they might be able to lend you their password for a day or two? Trust me, you’re gonna want to binge watch the Queen’s Gambit anyway. It’s that good...

Post WWII movies out of the mainstream... leave your popcorn behind:

“Land of Mine”
“Joy Division (2006)”

Guns, guns, guns...

Ok, I don't own a gun nor am I into guns... but my wife - she keeps asking, "Any good war movies to watch?"
These ones are popcorn compatible (well, relatively speaking)...

TANKS:
• T-34 (great CGIs)
• White Tiger (great start but weird ending)
• Fury (mainstream)

SpecOPS:
• 13 Hours - The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi (yes, yet another heroic cock-up)
• Sicario (if you have a crush on Emily Blunt)
• Sicario 2 - Day of the Soldado (if you can't get enough of Benicio del Toro even without Emily Blunt)
• Act of Valor (I was led to believe that real Navy Seals were used to play some roles so they didn't have to train actors to make the movie more realistic. If so, then "real life" resembles a B-grade movie and that A-grade actors are well-trained appealing pretenders as they ought to be...) ?

TV SERIES BINGE WORTHY
• Bodyguard - BBC (a must-see if you haven’t already)

I think the Mandalorian was already mentioned ... Shot in a slightly weird way which doesn't immediately grab you. Just finished Season 2... Don't forget to keep watching after the credits..

Unusual Film of the week ... "Another Round" Original title (Druk) . Danish film. Not sure if it's available dubbed or not, I watched it in Danish.

Staring " Mads Mikkelsen" - which if you've seen "Dark", you'll recognise from there.

Based on a theory that man is born with too low a natural blood alcohol level, 4 friends test out the theory.

I'm still not sure how I'd describe it as a film. Not fast moving, but entertaining with some uplifting moments all the same.

I did pour a small Whisky before hand and managed to drag it out through the whole film .....

When I see Mikkelsen all I see is Hannibal (the TV series)... his face will always freak me out!

Ah yes, I'd forgotten about that one !!! Was brilliant ! I don't think I finished it because someone didn't like it ... will have too look it up and continue !!!!

Oh I chanced upon an awesome war flick last night! I love it when I accidentally find a gem in amongst so many mediocre rubbish movies.

This one I would normally pass by, not because it’s subtitled, but the billboard kinda looked B-grade. But wow, everything about it is superb!

‘MOSUL’ at Netflix
